Please, Please don't bring race into question. Margarito isn't considered the best because he hasn't beaten any good opponents to prove it. All Floyd has said is that he needs to prove himself worthy to everyone before Floyd fights him. If he's the best why doesn't he just beat a good fighter or two to get to Floyd? Clottey is not going to do it.

Floyd's comments don't mean a lot in this case.

The bottom line is that he's not fighting Mayweather anytime soon, so why not fight the best fights available outside of that?

Sure fighting Williams isn't a mega fight, but neither was Cintron and that was still a good win. When you start to add these prospects he's beat (not suggesting he will beat Williams), it defintaly ups his stock. I think the fans and media would recognize this if he were to beat Paul Williams.

The more he adds to his resume from this point on, the better.

Really who is left to beat in order for Floyd to fight him? Judah is done. Mitchell is done. Gatti is done. Collazo, Rivera, Urkal, Suarez, Williams, Quintana, are all fighters that if he beats then he still doesnt get that household name. So who really is there to fight?

so you want him to keep fighting these high risk guys who he wont get much credit for? honestly u r hating. he doesnt have to climb up the ladder anymore. hes been at the top but its guys like mayweather who keep looking down on him to the media in order to avoid him. The more he looks down, the more scared he gets, like heights.

Then later on another question about Willimas "When Margarito beats Williams then he has earned the right to fight you?" Floyd then answer again, "who is Williams and what has he done? When Margarito defeats Williams I hope he doesn't think thats enough to earn him a shot at me!"

So all this bull**** talk about Margarito needs to fight Williams to get to Maywether needs to stop. Sure, they will fight hopfully in November, but stop BS'ing that the Williams fight will get him a fight with Mayweather cause even Mayweather doesn't know who Williams is.
Same guy who thought Tarver vs. Hopkins was a DRAW. Clearly a troll thread.

Wow are you nut huggers touchy.

                "Keep fighting high risk guys"?

Like the one high risk guy he fought in Cintron?

You're talking like that's all he's been doing.

All I said is that Williams is his mandatory, and is quickly becoming a threat at Welter. Beating the best fighters out there is what would be best for Margarito, and I don't think anyone in boxing would disagree that beating Paul Williams (once again, his mandatory defense) is a very good win.

No one's ducking Margarito. It's high risk low reward. Plain and simple. Unless Arum gives any of the titlists a huge offer no one's gonna take it. Simple as that.

Oh yeah, and Floyd ducked him.

u said when u start adding up wins over prospect like thats what he has to do for the rest of his career to fight him? thats why i said keep fighting high risk so nut huger im not.

Ive said that he should fight Williams but.. where would he go from there. Baldomir would be done too. They would be the only two guys left on top in the welterweight division. They HAVE to fight by then. hopefully they'll make him a mandatory.

I said that he should forget about the Floyd fight for now, because it AIN'T HAPPENING. Same goes for his fans. Let it go, and get over it.

Outside of a Mayweather fight, he should just look to fight the best fights out there, and add to his resume.

It's looking like Paul Williams has a lot of the tools to become a big name in and around that weight. There's the history of them sparring and Williams fighting on HBO back to back in his last two fights.

When you add the fact he's been calling Margarito out and is his mandatory for that WBO title, it's a good fight, and one that's win-able.
