It doesn't matter who Joe fights, he'd beat anyone within his weight range anyway. Hell, if the Blow took on RJJ he'd slap him so hard he'd knock Super_Lightweight's ***** out of his mouth.

Ain't no one around to beat the Blow.

Yeah; isn't it a great move by F. Warren to have Joe fight Bika on the same day when Kessler is fighting Beyer. Bika hammered Beyer into the floor and got only robbed by a corrupt German refs, docs, judges, blitzkrieg fritzes and sausage cooks who saved a technical draw for Beyer when Beyer was just about to pass out, lose his ******ity, bleed to death, and disappear alltogether from the face of this earth.

So noone will be interested in this ***** Kessler fighting the corps of Beyer when Joe fights Beyer's conqueror, the great Bika. Face it: Joe Calzaghe is having the true unification fight on October 14, not Kessler. And anyway, who is Kessler. No opponent is big enough for Joe, but if any comes remotely close to it it's Bika

Well, I'm not really sure who you want him to fight instead.

Mundine? The rugby league player? One of the few people to be KO'd by Ottke.

Green? Just lost to Mundine of all people.

Froch? Much as I enjoy watching his fights as they are entertaining, Calzaghe is a bad matchup for him. Froch gets hit with WAY too many shots, which is fair enough fighting guys like Brian Magee, but Calzaghe would have way too much for Froch to handle.

Most of the other marquee names are already tied up, Kessler (thought I'd mention him up here, lol), Johnson, Woods, etc, etc.

I admit that his choice of opponent isn't exactly brilliant, but it's ok as long as his next fight is the winner of Kessler v Beyer (and really only if Kessler wins, because Beyer is extremely limited, not to mention half shot), or the winner of Johnson v Woods.

Well. It´s going to happen that way. We can only hope for a unification later.
I think Beyer is gonna get knocked out of his boots, as soon as the bell rings. Calzaghe should do the same thing in his fight. I hope the boxing world/media will give both fights attention. This would put the pressure on for a unification.

Name the fighter he should fight instead. I'll readily admit that some (in fact most) of Calzaghe's opponents aren't exactly what you'd call 'elite' fighters, but who's available for him to fight in October?

I hope so too. As I said earlier, if Kessler wins handily I see Calzaghe taking that fight. If Beyer wins, I think Calzaghe will move up to LHW for the Woods v Johnson winner.

                Librado Andrade
                Rudy Markussen
                Denis Inkin
                Robert Stieglitz
                Anthony Mundine

                  Librado Andrade
Rudy Markussen (no 1 WBO mandatory for Calzaghe)
                  Denis Inkin
Robert Stieglitz (no 1 IBF mandatory for Calzaghe)
                  Anthony Mundine

If there is no big fights available for Calzaghe he should get his mandatory and fight them

He would get no recognition for fighting either of them.
