    Absolutely delusional.
If the athletes in boxing have improved that much, how come very few are in condition? Why are most heavyweights who turn up in condition, automatically accused of performance enhancing drugs? The quality of the athletes in boxing have regressed, that is crystal clear etc

Jesse Owens ran 10.2/3 on mud/cinder tracks while wearing heavy running shoes 'All while he training and living off food stamps' Jesse Owens if he competed in this modern era would be a 9.6xx sprinter standard.

Athletes have not improved like you are trying to make out mate.

I agree, we have made advancements in sports science but I think unfortunately now, America loses a lot of young, strong athletes to other sports.

There’s a lot more money to be made in organisations like the nba and nfl than there used to be and perhaps the lure of becoming rich without getting punched in the head for a living has had a huge effect.
Maybe the standard is just too high for Americans at the moment due to the globalization of the sport.

I see Americans make argument that all their talents went to the NFL. But funnily enough, there's a dearth of black tight ends (which is like the position where those who would have the size to become decent boxers would play) in the NFL unlike the 70s, 80s, 90s & 00s. So, if the talents aren't in boxing & aren't in the NFL - it's better to conclude that Americans just don't have what it takes.

          Mike Tyson sounds clueless.

Apart from the Ruiz fight where AJ was lethargic, I rarely see AJ telegraph his punches.

He must be confusing AJ with Wilder. Or the only AJ fight he has ever watched is the Ruiz fight.

Then again, Tyson is mentally not there & he smokes too much weed. So this isn't shocking.

Look at the Wilder fanboys claiming that Fury had egg weights and compromised gloves in the 2nd fight beat down. Look at the Fury fanboys like denium claiming that Fury is the face of boxing and it’s biggest star, despite not even being able to stage a homecoming in his own country, and that his positive drug test was the result of foul play by the “boxing establishment”. Need I say more? Go on, please refute anything I’ve said with facts - I’ll be waiting.

                Messiah

Tyson Fury is not looked as a Messiah in the UK. He is a top top fighter. He lost he way to drink and drugs for a while and came back. The mental illness makes a great story. Failing a drug test and blaming it on meat is another great story.

                Can't wait for the fight!

More importantly, he will have to learn how to ignore or interpret Fury’s feints as his constant and masterful feinting is what made fools of Wlad and Wilder.

AJ fans are typically the most rational here, unlike Fury and Wilder ones who repeatedly bend over backwards to explain their heroes contradictory and questionable behaviour.

Mike Tyson has a very fair point - AJ has a lot to work on if he’s to defeat Fury. But fortunately for him he seems the fastest learner of the lot, given he wasn’t even peers with Wilder and Fury in the amateurs, and he is continuously evolving as a fighter. The Fury-AJ fight will tell us whether he’ll have evolved enough.
I get what you are saying and agree for the most part. My issue with AJ was that he was too big and all that weight in muscle would burn his stamina. He has since fixed that. I agree with Mike that he telegraphs his punches and in the past he had the advantage of being the bigger, faster, taller guy in the ring and against Fury that will not be the case. Fury's reach will cause AJ problems all night. AJ is a quick learner but he learns after the fact not before. Fury is not one to just ignore your weaknesses. I think Fury out jabs AJ all night to the point that AJ tries anything to get in after being down on points all night and Fury starts to really punish him.
