WBN no longer recognize WBA as a sanctioning body

World Boxing News has made the decision, which turned out not to be a tough one, to remove the World Boxing Association’s recognition as a sanctioning body.

All WBA belts will now be removed from the WBN Champions list and unifications will not be recognized if it involves a WBA belt and only one of the other three major bodies.

I told the boxingscene that Josh Taylor was beneath Jose Ramirez, now whos laughing? Jose has the WBC-WBO, the 'Tart-Tomato' has been demoted by World Boxing News.

Errol Spence, dont even try it buddy, Yordenis Ugas value as 'Super-champion' has just dropped! Well played Manny Pacquaio!

Having 4 or 5 champions per division is pure garbage.

Tank Davis, Leo Santa Cruz, and Roman Gonzalez are no longer considered as Champions by the WBN. Their belts have no more value.

All WBA belts will now be removed from the WBN Champions list

I've been saying this for years. I hope it sets off a chain reaction and everyone follows suit, but I doubt it.

Hope everyone else will do the same. sanctioning bodies only get legitimacy if the media and promoters give them legitimacy.

Here's a working link for the lazy:

                https://*******.com/nomorewba

I find them to be hypocrites though since they said this:

Undisputed will only be acknowledged if it’s between the WBC, IBF, and WBO championships. The latter still has work to do to be on par with the WBC and IBF.

A future scenario could arise where WBN will consider only the World Boxing Council and International Boxing Federation. Conversations remain ongoing.

The WBO have gradually added more belts to their roster over the years, with the WBO Global now seemingly gathering worrying pace with promoters.

A WBC addition of the ‘Franchise’ status has also raised more questions than answers. Hopefully, that will disband when Canelo retires.

In one breath they say the WBO "has work to do to be on par with" the WBC.

But then later says "WBC addition of the Franchise status...."

Need to make up their damn minds. WBC was the first to introduce

                Regular /
                Interim /
                Super /
                Franchise /
                Money /
                Gold/
                Universal /
                Emeritus /
whatever that kid was gifted... so by your own damn rules, you should have banned them LONG ago.

But you didn't because you know they run the show right now. It ain't about Canelo.

It's all moot because WBN is not the authority. International Boxing Hall of Fame is. If they recognize it, it remains a credible title. And they're not going to drop it anytime soon, especially not with Joshua holding it.

Isn't WBA the longest running body?
