Benavidez is the only guy with the right combination of toughness/skill who could push Canelo by preventing him from dominating through toughness/skill... others only excel at one or the other

that has been obvious for quite some time now, and it has also been one of the best fights that boxing could make for quite some time now

NOT saying that Benavidez would win

fk that would be a good fight, no idea why hardcores are not screaming for that matchup

Saunders would also be interesting, but Benavidez is a monster
I think Canelo vs Benevidez would look kinda like Crawford vs Benevidez (had Bud faced pre drive by Benevidez,I woulda considered it by far his most impressive win & a truly great win,but he had no mobility,& thus no usual aggression) that being said I think Benevidez would lose by ko mid to late rds, because he would go for the ko & get hit in the tumtum too often (I think Canelo is a stylistic kryptonite to Benevidez, but I do think out of the remaining Smws he offers the best chance of an upset)

I think thats the most entertaining fight to make for sure,& it would be a Kirkland vs Canelo style barnburner where David would have better punch resistance, better skills, reach, etc. so Canelo would have to dig deep.

2)GGG - already has beaten Canelo twice in many fans minds & even those that disagree can't argue these two have had the most close 2 fights in a long ass time outside of one wonky ass scorecard

3)Benavdez - young, relentless & skilled = a tough fight for anyone, and he's likely still is gonna get better & more experienced

4)Plant - still relatively untested for his age, but gots some skills that could give a lot of guys trouble, maybe even Canelo

5)Jacobs - don't really think Danny is much of a threat, but I don't think anyone at 168 not listed above provides more of a threat than Danny
Well Nelo says he has no interest in fighting another Mexican boxer....at least narrows the field. Lol

I think Benavidez is eventually gonna make that fight happen regardless of what Canelo wants.

Also wtf is Canelo even talking about. He's KO'd & beaten a lot of Mexican boxers. It damn near sounds like he's trying to avoid losing the Mexican fanbase by losing to another Mexican boxer who would greatly grow from the hype if he beat Canelo.

I hate when these boxers talk about all these mofos they won't fight. Although I'm more hardcore with that than most cuz I think it was ***** the Klitschko's & Charlo's (when both were at 154) didn't fight each other.

It doesn't just have to be 168'ers - Bivol could cut down, Andrade and Jermall could go up.

You can't rate BJS higher than any of these guys, it's all hypothetical with Saunders and who has he beat really? He's been around MW and now SMW forever, Jermall moves up and beats a much better opponent than any of BJS' and he beats him in style, better than anyone has yet.

There's a reason why all these other guys have faced top opposition and Saunders has not. Common denominator: Billy Joe Saunders.

What's his best win? The fetus of Eubank? Murray was a 40 year old. David Lemieux is....David Lemieux. He's literally beat nobody and has been riding on coattails of like 1 (ONE!!!!) great performance....against a past-prime, C-level at best fighter.

no no, I mean... that seems a dumb thing for Canelo to say
