Well to be fair fighting another Mexican is kinda like bringing sand to the beach. Doesn’t quite bring in that other market financially. But yeah it’s not great to hear. Didnt Barrera, Morales, JMM all hate each other? Those were the days. Maybe other Mexicans can use those words against Canelo if they really want that fight? If he’s the best he shouldn’t shun other Mexicans from being able to try and prove it? Maybe it’s him bring selfish? Who knows. Point is it can be used against him. But this Canelo The Pope. You can’t make him do anything.

I think its misplaced love for his people. I seen a old interview where he said this before and he said it was because he doesnt want to be responsible for derailing another Mexicans career but the part I think he fails to realize is,,, that he can be giivng his people a $15million dollar payday where they might never get that otherwise and he solely holds that power to make his own people rich. IMO he could have faced Gilberto Ramirez, David Benavidez, Jaime Munguia, sure maybe he beats them all but he would have also made them all Rich. To put that into Persepective that is maybe $45 Million dollars that could have went into his own people hands instead he made everyone else rich.

Whats racist about that? Someone probably asked him why he fights so many Mexicans.

Not interested in this fight anyways. But interesting how he never mentions Benavidez. That's a fight we all want to see.

People really aren’t too good at reading sometimes. Saying it’s just code for not wanting Zurdo and Benavidez when he says in this article he doesn’t want to fight light heavyweights right now cause he feels like he gives up too many advantages. Don’t try to tell me Benadivez is a super middle either, he lost his belt again this time on the scales (by 3 pounds) and the boy only 24. Plus, correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t Benavidez American? Lol

That's Canelo's nice way of saying, he doesn't want to derail young Munguia's career. He wants Munguia to be able to continue to eat. Canelo will destroy Munguia if they meet.

Pacquiao has not fought a filipino and he has refused too.

I was going to say this too, I’m surprised you pointed that out.

A lot of fans in the thread have a chip over their shoulder regarding races or nationalism, saying it’s racist or to say what if a “black.” It means there are many uneducated people..

Cubans OPENLY PREFER to not fight each other... that’s their code, for whatever reason it is, do you call it racist? They’re predominantly black. What if Spence said I won’t fight any Americans, would that be considered racist? Mexican isn’t a color nor is American a color. So why do posters say “what if a black boxer said this...” lol. Too many dummies.

The only guys who bring up race with these statements feel the world owes them a better life?

Floyd never said he wouldn’t fight Americans. What does color have to do with these statements? You should learn about citizenships and melting pots. Canelo said he was a fan of Napoles. Isn’t he acknowledging that his country also has a melting pot variance?

I assume all this failed theory is because Canelo’s complexion is the antithesis to LDBC culture so you just make this stuff up? I bet your type of thinking assumes Jerry Seinfeld considers himself white? You do realize the Proud Boys wouldn’t consider Ben Stiller white? Or is Dey all da same mayne?
