Errr am I missing something here. Haney wasn’t lomas mandatory, Campbell was. That’s why when Loma was elevated to Franchise Campbell got the fight and Haney got to fight for the normal WBC belt.

Anyone calling Loma a hype job knows nothing about boxing. The most decorated amatuer in history. The least fights to 3 weight champion ever. Fighting a division above and beats everyone bar Lopez. The original tentative Lopez vs Loma date before Covid was May 30th. Lomachenko fight wth Campbell was Aug 31st. There was plenty of time for Lomachenko to fight his mandatory and still fight Lopez. Instead he chose to vacate.

This is why he's a paper champ. He's still one of the top guys out there, still on P4P. But Haney would rather play childish games. A solid win over Loma would only be good for his career, especially if he got the KO when Lopez didn't. Of course, if he doesn't think he can win, he can run and hide and make excuses, but he'll never be a true champion without beating Loma or Lopez. Seems like few of the top guys are really up for fighting anyone and testing themselves unless there's already blood in the water.

Loma brings nothing to the table. No belt. Coming off a loss. Haney is chasing the guy who beat Loma & the guy who beat Campbell better than Loma. Loma is old news. He needs to work his way back and earn a shot

I won’t say he is old news but he definitely has to get in line or become a revenue generator because right now he offers the least out of the top lightweights.
