  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Joshua, Fury Will Make 'Mayweather Money' For One Of Biggest Fights Of All Time

Eddie Hearn was careful not to attach actual numbers when asked how much money Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will make for their heavyweight showdown. Joshua's promoter did predict that they'll be compensated comparable to the highest-paid boxer in the history of the sport. Hearn stated during his weekly appearance Tuesday on "The Ak & Barak Show" that the British heavyweights will make "Mayweather money" for their heavyweight title unification fight either late in May or at some point in June.

Fury is a smart man. From 2018 when he had nothing to now, very smart man. Only a crackhead would leave a money like that on the table and walk away.

I can think of one crackhead who did. Well more denthead than crackhead. His owner whispered in to his clean unscratched ear that one offer was nothing more than Mayweather training camp money and then led him away from the chance for undisputed so he could be relieved of the one belt he had for even less money.

I won't name the fighter but he is one dumb cvnt.

Hope the fight happens, but I also hope the Wilder rematch happens too. And the AJ vs Usyk fight too. Go into unification without any issues. If Fury is confident he can beat Wilder again, then prove it. If not, then pay him for breaching the contract. Wasn't it Fury that said he "didn't care about money" when it came to fighting? Didn't he "donate his fight purse to charity" once? Well?

Lol, my thoughts exactly when I read Ray's comment!

Only a crackhead ... or an extremely gullible and deluded fighter who was having his strings pulled by Al Haymon and Shelley Finkel.

Still crying? Let it go Fury stomped your boy and made it look easy. No cheating neccesary just actual skill and boxing ability. Wilder is through and it kills you. Smooth brained loser.

It can make a lot of money, but the days of Mayweather-Pacquaio fight money are over. It would be difficult to even get the kind of money that Mayweather-McGregor fight money.

Mayweather -ish money should be achievable ..

Site fee should eclipse a Mayweather fight based on what Saudi paid for AJ previously and this is a many times bigger fight, viewers UK they are talking about bumping the ppv to 30ukp =~ 45 dollars 2-3 million seems possible UK/Ireland given two networks will be selling it (I think the record is an AJ fight though there was a strong Mayweather fight about 1.6million) .. but this is two heavyweight Brits for undisputed much bigger than any previous fight by orders of magnitude and much easier to buy and more promoted.
Also according to Arum the American networks take a much higher percentage of a ppv than say Sky.

Arum says it will be ppv ESPN in the States .. we'll say its not popular but that's all extra revenue. ESPN won't pay for Wilder/Fury super bowl ads so all profit. I'd like to see them do a cheap ppv in the States and have a good undercard.

Now AJ does big numbers in other countries around the world and even ppvs in other countries, Arum says DAZN will buy those rights outright as for instance AJs last fight would normally be ppv New Zeland say but was free on DAZN post global launch. Expect DAZN to add a lot for this.
