Me too but it will never happen. Lopez team already shot that idea down hard. They're happy to move on with belts in hand. It's basically like they got the keys to the bank handed over to them, why would they want to risk handing those keys back? All the potential money he can make now with those belts handy are well more viable than attempting to solidify a win over Loma that leaves no doubts. He knows what can happen in a rematch, felt those hits land like nobody had done before to him.
For casuals who believed Loma got beaten

I guess if you wanna argue he wasn't even trying to win in the first 7 rounds cuz Teofimo was 3 steps ahead of him so he didn't really lose you'd have some sorta point.
Otherwise C- troll thread.
If not a troll thread I never get why mfers get so caught up in bad outcomes when we've all agreed on the rules of the sport. The best guys who've ever put on gloves have lost. Floyd & Rocky even lost amateur fights despite being unrivaled as pros. SRR the go to #1 P4P pick of most fans lost 19 fights. Who gives a sh^t? Loma was a bad mofo on literally hundreds of nights & has plenty of successful pro title fights under his belt. He came up short vs Teofimo. So what? He's still a bad mofo if he never wins another fight.Comment

He Lost...Get Over It! Still a great fighter and I would love to see him against the other fighters at 135 whom many seem relieved that he lost to Teofimo and want to ignore him like he is not still one of the best P4P todayComment

Loma lost but Lopez did not win the fight by taking it to the champion at all. He played defensively the entire fight and when Loma finally opened up, he was tagging Lopez at will with combinations.
Lopez would lose if they rematched nearly immediately. If they ever do rematch again in the future, Loma's going to be over the hill and it wouldn't be the same than if he rematched him now.
Then when Lopez wins the rematch, his fans (I'm his fan but won't be saying this),will be saying see, Lopez clearly won the first and Loma would have never won a rematch. Oh well, that's the sport for you.
You mention when Loma "finally opened up" and that's the point. Loma took too long to get started and if one guy does a little (Teo) while the other guy does even less (Loma) then the guy who did a little more is gonna take the round.Comment

That was a great fight ... even with Loma's slow start. Kudos to Teofimo Lopez, lots of skills, serious heart, and he dug deep at the end. I think Loma wanted Lopez to tire (he did from 9 - 11), and Loma was being careful of that power in the early rounds. He probably had some ring rust too having been out so long.
He won the war from 8 - 11, but lost the 12th in one of the best 12th rounds in a long time. I had Lopez winning because he turned the tide during the 12th round war.
It would be a better fight in a rematch. I'd probably pick Loma to win but wouldn't be surprised at all if Lopez repeated. Lopez will definitely grow from that fight ... having been somewhat exposed in those later rounds. I'm sure he and his team are working to shore up some defense and offense because of those rounds.
Rematch will be a classic if held in the next 18 months.Comment

He forfeited the right to complain about the result by doing next to nothing the first half of the fight.Comment
