If John Ryder makes this 'eye test' struggle like he did with Callum Smith...I'm going to need NSB to give Canelo his credit for that win.

It's just a good fight man, big step up for Morrell... see whether he's really as good as he looks. John's a very solid fighter but Morrell's entirely unproven... could be elite could be one of those guys who fold when he hits a real challenge. I think he's the goods but this fight has zero bearing on how Canelo's win over Mundo should be viewed.

Although I always said Canelo should get plenty of credit for fighting and beating Mundo - just not as much as he would have done before Callum looked like ass against the Gorilla.

I'm saying, if John Ryder makes this 'eye test' struggle like he did Smith, it validates what I said, which is that MAYBE John Ryder is just better than you guys think he is.

IF Ryder makes him struggle, that means Smith was better than NSB treated him, and just ran into a very tough, underrated opponent.

WHICH means Canelo dominated a guy at the top of the division - as the rankings showed - and deserves full credit for that win.

Morrell didn't look all that great in August as he still has some amateur habits he needs to get rid of. But this fight is awesome. Ryder is a veteran who has looked solid in his last few outings. If Morrell is not the real deal, he can get pushed to the limit and exposed.

You’re attempting to cast shade on Canelo’s win here by playing mental gymnastics. Styles make fights and what one does to one opponent doesn’t make him a bum just because a fighter faces someone else and may get floored. Canelo beat what many considered tops in the division. That’s not me saying it, that’s the people in the game saying it.

Now Canelo is lining up over his next three fights TWO MORE champions. Yet, his haters and doubters are still trashing his opposition with the same oft tired “bum” language. I don’t care what Canelo does. He could wipe the division top to bottom yet there will still be some saying, “ not good enough.”

I’ve grown tired of people who critique every hair on a fighter’s ass. I could literally come in here tomorrow and say the sky is blue and have at least a dozen argue that it’s not.

Who's 'you guys'? I always said John Ryder was good, better than folk think he is. Guy just always gets the shitty end of the stick when it comes to judging. And I always said Canelo deserved credit for the W over Callum. Even though Ryder deserved the nod over Mundo doesn't make Mundo some kinda trash.

But Ryder beating 4 and 0 Morrell tells us nothing either way, that's what I'm saying. It's just an irrelevent yeardstick since Morrell hasn't done anything of significance yet. I'm not arguing with your conclusion I'm just saying Morrell ain't the guy you need to prove it.

Besides that kinda things a waste of time anyway, these kinda arguments never change anyone's mind whether they got a solid methodology or not. Dudes are gonna either be a fan of Canelo, they gonna respect him (like I myself do) without being an especial fan or they gonna hate on him. The ones you're aiming at are the ones with dislike for the guy and they ain't changing their minds any more than you'd change your mind about Crawford or whoever.

Morrell looked pretty good to me. Lol Of course, he wasn’t fighting a ranked guy. But that was only the kid’s fourth pro fight, and he took it on three week’s notice. Hope Ryder isn’t too much for him. It’s a big step up.
