So there were four WBA champions at 168...

This is the question... Morrell looks like he could go as far as he wanted in terms of raw talent, but there's reason they tend to step kids up, introduce 'em to adversity gradually. Sometimes the guy doesn't fold and fights back and these wunderkinder don't know what to do when it doesn't go their way. Ryder's a tough tough dude, almost all of his Ls could be Ws had the judges been on his side and this is actually a big big step up for the kid.

Big fan of John, one of those workhorses of the sport who just never seem to quite get the breaks, but I'm also real high on Morrell.

Damn. May the best guy win I guess.

Fine. Put him in with Ryder. Then put him in with BJS and watch him get schooled. Comparing him to Lomachenko. smh.

Maybe the thinking here is: Ryder will give resistance but without the destructive power. So there is some risk but it's limited?

Belt Organization kind of ruining fighters moments by not allowing them to win the damn Belt in the RING and instead just Emailing them saying "Congratulations You have Been Elevated To WBA World Champion" or whatever

Regardless cong**** to Morrell! I am extremely HIGH on Morrell Jr., he is a gifted fighter and I think will break out in 2021

Tough fight for Morrell, no doubt. It’s a WBA-ordered bout. It could be good or bad for the kid. Hope he does well.

Not sure if this has been answered yet, but he won the vacant WBA “interim” against Lennox Allen

That’s a big step up in competition for Morrell. If he can make a statement and look impressive beating Ryder, that’ll be awesome. This is an intriguing matchup.
