According to Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions, he is still attempting to make a fight between middleweight ruler, Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs), and mandatory challenger Danny Jacobs (32-1, 29KOs).
"We're still making progress, still speaking with Al(Haymon) and still trying to work out a deal that's fair for both fighters. I think it's a great fight, it's the number one middleweight versus the number two middleweight. So our goal is to work out a deal and not go to a purse bid. So hopefully we'll have something done in the near future,'' Loeffler tells Boxingscene.com.

Your lack of knowledge of sport is incredible!
Jacobs got the fight as he was mandatory. However, Jacobs refused to fight unless he got more than the WBA mandatory %. Jacobs wasn't a seller so Haymon had no problem with allowing that fight to be made. Haymon otherwise would have matched him up far easier and against an in-house fighter. But a win over Gennady would have seen PBC hold all the cards.

Tank did, thus his profitability while fighting bums as you say.
How can a guy draw that many tickets fighting bums without being a star?
Warrington sells a shlt load of tickets in Leeds and is one of the most proven fighters in boxing. But i wouldn't go as far to call him a star.

Canelo

They're stars. Tank is no such thing. Neither is anyone on the PBC roster. They don't make the right kind of fights at the time they should be happening to even give themselves a chance of creating a star. Regardless of how much you defend them, you know it's true. You wish they went about business in a completely different way but they don't. They protect the fighters because he wants to control boxing and push everyone else out. By keeping them fighting bums all the time, the chance of defeat is slimmer. If every other promoter keeps matching their fighters hard, then they'll lose a large chunk of their main guys by the defeat it brings.
Besides, PBC fighters want to be protected too. They don't want to fight. They just want to talk about it, not be of action. They're happy with the way Al goes about his work. If they weren't, they all would have left by now.
You can't create stars with this model. All you'll do is kill the sport quicker. Nothing positive comes from it.

February 10, 2016:
An odd trend has developed in fighters advised by Al Haymon suddenly appearing in major HBO events. The high-powered adviser was functionally blacklisted in 2013 by the network’s old guard, preferring to not commit full-time license fees to what was becoming a part-time relationship.
The first effort in breaking that cycle came in early February, when World middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez announced he will be facing Amir Khan on May 5, airing live on HBO Pay-Per-View from Las Vegas. Khan is advised by Haymon but was free and clear to negotiate a fight with Alvarez, whose promoter Golden Boy Promotions has a pending $300 antitrust lawsuit filed against Haymon, its former business partner.
One week later, Gennady Golovkin and his team have formally announced an April 23 showdown versus another Haymon-advised boxer in unbeaten contender Dominic Wade. Their bout will air live on HBO’s flagship station, live from The Forum in Inglewood, California...
“There was no hesitation at all in working out a deal with Dominic Wade and his team” Tom Loeffler, managing director of K2 Promotions told BoxingScene.com. “We reached out to his promoter, Tom Brown (TGB Promotions), whom I’ve known for more than 20 years. We were able to agree on all terms in about a week...”
In Wade, he now gets his first Haymon-advised opponent. If negotiations are any indication of future business, it likely won’t be the last time – which in turn will mean HBO continuing to softening its stance on the subject.
“I have nothing to do with whom the networks choose to work with, as (K2 Promotions) is open to do business with all promoters and managers,” Loeffler insists. “I’ve never had any issues whatsoever with Al, and there certainly weren’t any road blocks in making this fight. I dealt with Tom Brown directly, who worked with Al in making the fight happen.
“There wasn’t any hesitation on their side. They understand the opportunity. It means fighting for the middleweight title, against the best middleweight in the world. They were on board every step of the way. We made a few concessions to make the fight happen, they agreed to our terms and shortly thereafter contracts were signed, allowing us to announce the fight.”

Following the recent lawsuit from Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions against boxing manager and Premier Boxing Champions chief Al Haymon getting dismissed by a federal judge in court, we caught up with his Vice President of Communications at PBC – Tim Smith.
Boxing News and Views spoke with Smith this week on the phone.
Starting off in our conversation I asked him now that the lawsuit has been dismissed will there be more potential for Al Haymon and Oscar De La Hoya to work together in the future.
Smith went into detail on the subject:
“I think the fallacy that was put out by various people, you know, Al Haymon has never had a problem working with other promoters. Let me put it this way. Two of Canelo Alvarez’ last three opponents have been Haymon managed boxers. That being Amir Khan and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (in May 2017). Does that sound like Al Haymon has a problem working with Golden Boy?”
Touching on fights that Haymon has made in the past and upcoming in 2017, Smith continued:
“Considering that Canelo Alvarez is their cash cow, if Al Haymon had a problem working with Golden Boy I don’t think he’d be helping them out with their cash cow. Part of the fallacy I think on the part of people that have agendas against PBC, against Al or whatever, is to make him out to be the bogeyman. To say: ‘Oh he doesn’t want to work with anybody. He doesn’t want to make fights with anybody.’ But you look at the fights that he’s made. He’s made fights with (promoter) Bob Arum, Terence Crawford fought (Haymon managed) John Molina just back in December(2016). You know, GGG (middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin), he’s made fights through GGG’s people – Tom Loeffler. (Haymon manged) Danny Jacobs is fighting Golovkin on a HBO pay per view March 18th.”
He added:
“It just seems like people buy into a narrative without any investigation or understanding of what’s going on. Al is making fights with people. He’s never stopped making fights with people. As a matter of fact, the only discussion of anybody saying they weren’t going to do business with Al, wasn’t from Al, it came from Arum back a few years ago at the same time the guy from HBO Ken Hurshman said he wasn’t going to do any more business with Golden Boy or Al Haymon. You never heard Al Haymon saying: ‘I’m not doing any business with HBO or I’m never going to do business with anybody.’ It’s always been a one sided kind of thing where people have said they would not do business with Al.”
He concluded:
“Al’s never said he’s not going to do any business with
anybody because that would bring harm to his clients. Why would he do that? Why would he harm his clients? He’s supposed to be working in their best financial interest. So you can’t close off a door and say your not going to work with anybody.”
