He ain't lying. I heard Haney used to torture Stevenson in sparring and that irl fight I saw Stevenonson involved in right here:

I mean, come on man. Like Buddy said, when he in there with somebody real, it's lights out.

I agree that Shakur Stevens is entitled to defend his career against slander from b rated trainers. You won't catch people like Derrick James, Robert Garcia, Chepo Reynoso, Rnnie Shields or Virgil Hunter going out of their way to discourage or disparage any young fighter. Buddy McGirt will never be placed on the same level as the previously trainers because Buddy McGirt is straight trash.

Top Rank is the best matchmaker in the sport. Lopez was only put in the ring with Lomachenko because he made it real public that he wanted him and never had the “talk to my promoter” attitude or “i’ll fight whoever my promoter says”. He forced the Lomachenko fight but if he never did that TR would have been feeding him no hopers for years. Just look at Crawford. Is it $3.5million per fight? Vs no hopers and fighters who used to be good. And it works too. He is ranked as #2 P4P by journalists and everyone thinks he could beat anyone in his weight class without ever fighting any elite level fighter in his career. That is a great job by TR. Stevenson doesn’t really stand out to anyone but eventually he will, facing guys who used to be good and getting massive credit for it by TR fanboys/anti-PBC people.

I’m not sold on Stevenson as a boxer, I don’t know yet if he will be elite. I need to see more of him. But so far i’m not impressed.

With that said, I would not cite a street fight as evidence of how good a boxer is in the ring. In a street fight vs a civilian, you’re probably not going to try to outjab your opponent or bob and weave, go to the body to weaken them as the fight goes, etc. Street fights are haymakers galore and statistically speaking they actually end up on the ground and last about 45 seconds on average. These statistics are why in law enforcement, officers are trained in grappling techniques. Street fights also include something you don’t bring into the ring: anger.

I really like the speech pattern. Fun to read.

Hey, Sergey, have another vodka. Canelo hit you and it was a wrap. I love you, baby, but the truth hurts. You went down like a lead balloon. I know you very well and he knocked you out. And I love you, Sergey, it's nothing personal, but he fkd you UP. You look tough, but you're not tough. You're washed up and you've got covid and you ain't pretty. You're on your own, kid. I love you.

There must be going something going on behind the scenes for him to say all this about Steveson, but he's probably right that Lopez would stop him if they ever fought.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but I disagree with all of that. If you got years in boxing gym and got wins, you put people on the street to sleep 9 out of 10 times without no tussle.

Cops can't fight, that guy that got shot at Wendy's Rayshard Brooks beat two big cops a$$ before he took of running. Whatever they training these cops with don't work.

This is what street fights look when you know how to box, never anger. You get calm, dead calm.

Buddy McGirt recognizes that the Top Rank Protection Program exists.

A lot of us fans see it but it's vindication that a boxing insider sees it too.

At this point, I believe Buddy is right. Lopez is the stronger, bigger and more seasoned of the two fighters at this current point of their careers.
