This is why I'm skeptical of Crawford

You seem to know everything so be satisfied. I think you're only giving your opinion. My understanding is that he does not have the "final sat" that he is just there because he loves the lifestyle and the attention. What do you think that Todd LeBoeuf is there for.?? He runs the company, he's the President, and it was he who arranged the ESPN del, not Arum. When reporters want to know what's really going on they go to LeBoeuf, not Arum.
Dana White still has an interest in his former company but no longer runs it. It's run by it's President.
I'm telling you, I kNOW.Comment

Todd Debouef not Leboeuf. Yes Debouef is the head man & Moretti right below him. Bruce Trampler does matchmaking and has been doing it for years. They all run the day to day operations. Of course Arum at 89 isn't making deals like Moloney vs Franco. You seem to know everything so be satisfied. I think you're only giving your opinion. He's still very much involved with his bigger fighters like Fury, Loma, Crawford, Teo ect. Hell, there was just an article on here with Bomac complaining Bob won't answer his calls. Why would he be trying to get in touch with Arum if Arum is just for show?
Top Rank is still Arums company. He's still in his right mind. That's still his baby. Bob is the final boss on all big fights.Comment

O.K if you think so. I know better. Of course I forgot about Todd's name , it's so long since I read about him, over 25 years. Bob keeps in the limelight and Todd does the work, but doesn't make himself a public figure. . I remember when Arum publicly announced that he was stepping down from the work and Todd was taking over. It was on BoxingScene that I read it. about 15 years ago or more.Todd Debouef not Leboeuf. And I recall it's DUBoeuf not De... Never mind, we each know what we know.Comment

So you're basically agreeing with me up to the point of Bob still being involved with the bigger fighters. His bigger fighters are only Fury, Crawford, Loma, Teo, & their only fighting twice a year. That's 8 fights a year. Idk why it's hard for you to believe a man that still has all his faculties isn't involved in 8 fights a year in a business he knows like the back of his hand.Comment

No I'm not agreeing with you. I'm agreeing that you and I have different opinions-or knowledge, you might like to call it- And it's not hard to believe that an 89 year old man has all his faculties, My own dear late father was very much the same and he had uncles who lived to be 105 an 103, who had all their intellectual faculties until they passed. So you're basically agreeing with me up to the point of Bob still being involved with the bigger fighters. His eldest brother, my uncle, who lived to be 96 was as sharp as a needle also. He was a carnival boxer in his young days. He was friendly with Tommy Burns former sparring partner, who was black. He introduced me to him when I was very young. This man was then a very old, very tall(to me) straight, immaculately dressed, who came down to our boxing club, and donated several items like 5 oz boxing gloves very loosely stuffed with horsehair, skipping ropes, protectors, padded head helmets, etc. all very old. If I'd had any sense I'd have snaffled them. They'd be very valuable items today.
So, in a very roundabout minimal way, I have a connection with Tommy Burns, who was boxing from 1900 and champion until 1908..... Hard to think about.Comment

Perfectly said I think Bud is a big family man and is happy cashing those checks until retirement he knows really you will never please all boxing fans and pundits so he is laid back and justMy main issue with Terrence Crawford is that he's so indifferent about legacy fights. It seems like he is content to fight whoever as long as he's paid well and on one hand I get it. Boxing is a brutal, unforgiving sport so I understand guys wanting to make as much as they can for as long as they can.
On the other hand, I expect more from the best fighters in the world. If you want to be regarded as the best (or at least one of the best) in your era then there should be a sense of urgency to face your top competition.
I imagine Bud will get paid regardless so it would make sense to test yourself. But then again if you're already cashing big checks then I guess it doesn't matter as much.
doesn't bother
I don't believe he is afraid to fight Spence or Pac but he won't chase it when he can just cruise his way to the end of his career and get paid pretty wellLast edited by davef; 01-16-2021, 03:40 AM.Comment

Crawford has been matched carefully. He has a great matchmaker. His performances vs overmatched opponent catapulted him to top 3 P4P. He’s a very good fighter, but hasn’t really faced someone deemed as a challenge in like 6 years. He has been fighting guys who were in the outskirts of the top level.Comment

Just because you knew some old boxers who used to say put up your dukes doesn't mean you have inside info.No I'm not agreeing with you. I know a fighter who is signed to him. His hottest prospect. His mama told me exactly how it works. And I know another fighter & his family that was recruited by TR but ended up signing with TMT. I know exactly how it works cuz my first question to both was did you meet BobComment

Facts, it's not the Bud fans who don't want this fight to happen, it's like how it's only the Canelo fans who don't want the Charlo fight to happen. We know what time it is.Welter is one of the divisions that has no clear Champ right now. If I'm pushed I'd say Crawford is the best. He's better than these guys.
I'd never want the Pacman killed by Bud, so Pac shouldn't even think about that. It's on the other guys to make the offers if they want the best guy in the division.
War Bud!
