Yeah I try to stay out of the Floyd-Pac debate- as contradictory as that sounds as I’m in this thread.I apologize for posting an old article. The one I posted was from 2015. You are correct. I'd rep you but my rep is shot lol.
See, with posters like you, I learn a thing or two I didn't know before. I hate stan wars because nothing objective ever comes out of it. Like I said, I like both Floyd and Pac, so it's nice when someone who can call me out when I'm wrong.
I’m a big Pacquiao fan but I always felt Mayweather would beat him. I don’t like Floyd as a person but he deservedly retired undefeated as the best of his generation IMO.
I think you can rank Pac above him but it’s dependent on your criteria, for me personally, I’d put Floyd higher based on my criteria.
Both great fighters as you said.Comment

Look, here's the real if y'all can stand it.
Manny isn't greater.
Manny isn't better.
Manny IS more popular and has been more popular for the longest.
Manny is not an 8 division champion if you define division champion as winning a belt from a major boxing sanctioning body- Manny has only 6 of those...and the belt from 154 was a farce, so really Manny has legit belts in 5 divisions.
Manny's popularity is exactly what makes folks overlook these facts.
Floyd is better. He proved that in the ring against Manny and against better opponents than Manny has ever faced. Can you imagine what would have happened if Pac tried the Canelo that Mayweather beat easily?
And Floyd is greater, at least where the sport of boxing is concerned.
Floyd changed the game. It was Floyd that started the 24/7 and all access stuff that hypes fights weeks in advance. It was Floyd that invented the model used today by which boxers promote themselves. It was Floyd that took ppv to a different level. And, because of Floyd, boxing has at least a semblance of legit drug testing.
All of that is up against the single fact that people generally like Manny better as a person.
But, any factual and honest examination has to have Floyd on simply a higher level in several respects.Comment

Floyd did not beat a prime Canelo lmfaonote: im not talking about who's the bigger draw, who has more fans, more ppv (although they all belong to floyd). im just talking about what they achieved in the ring.
i enjoy watching both floyd and pacquiao fights. i prefer how floyd fights more, but im trying to be objective.
First off, Floyd has been "the man" in 4 weight classes, and Pac has only been "the man" in 3 weight classes even though he's an 8 belt title holder.
I look through both of their resumes, and Floyd beating a prime Castillo, prime Hatton, 154 De La Hoya, prime Canelo is better than most if not all of Pacquiao's resume.
it's funny how a lot of floyd haters say that floyd waited for his opponents past his prime, but manny's claim to fame was beating past prime fighters like barrera, and morales who beat his ass first time they fought.
manny has fought a lot of fighters coming off of a loss. Floyd sometimes did it in the past (Judah comes to mind), but he has also beaten a lot of boxers after their best performance.
manny has also been knocked out twice early when he was 17 and 20. now i can understand why people don't really count these losses, as he wasn't in his "prime" yet, but let's be real. imagine if floyd got knocked out once early in his career? floyd haters would be bringing that up nonstop.
oh, and Floyd beat Manny quite easily in their fight. that's what's most confusing. If floyd and manny fought MAYBE, i can see why people debate this. but they literally fought and manny got schooled lol.
im down for debate, what are the reasons why manny supposedly has a better resume?
Floyd is probably greater but the Thurman win did a lot for Mannys career. If Manny were to fighter either of Spence or Crawford and succeed...a serious case can be made.

This guy is familiar with the whole landscape.
Pac fans are literal nuts. They're the kind of people that shoot up schools or assassinate political opponents. Theyre the kind of people that storm Capitol Hill.
Cant reason with themComment
