Of couse it makes a cast. When you put tape over gauze it compresses the gauze. There is no way around it . That is why there is no tape allowed on the knuckle portion of the glove by any jurisdiction. Each layer of tape compresses the gauze under it so over all the same amount of tape makes a more rigid wrap. The reason it's done that way is to provide more support to the wrist so it doesn't flex as much allowing the fighter to punch with less chance of injury to his wrist. It also allows more energy to be transferred to the other boxer because the wrist area doesn't flex as much. It's illegal in NY which brings us back to the point I was making. Canelo's team were told to remove the wraps and tape the hands in accordance with the rules. They
Stacked the tape again and had to redo the wrapping a second time. Clearly they knew that their preferred method of wrapping Canelo's hands was illegal because they were told but ignored the rules and the instructions of the officials. To me that says cheating isn't a problem for the Canelo camp.

You complained about tape first. That’s a PAC classic. The fight was in Texas. Did Abel say that Canelo put tape on his knuckles?

Why do you worry so much about fights that were so many years ago and start threads about them? Pac is just another one of a large number of boxers you hate and trash in the endless stream of boxer trashing threads you start. There is no special legal way of taping the hands in Texas that adds extra punching power. Pac doesn't need it anyway because he hits hard, fast and accurately. You always act like you have some inside knowledge of how things work in boxing like this way of taping adds all this extra power but it doesn't and you are not this expert on all things boxing you pretend to be. You are just trashing Pac is all. Your favorite fighter Canrlo fights in Texas a lot so is he taking advantage of this mystical magical way of hand wrapping that is legal in Texas?
