I in no way mean to slam Lopez with this comment....
But can you REALLY be fighter of the year based on one outing if your opponent took half the fight off? I mean come on. Despite it being a complete wash out win for Lopez, Lomachenko gave him the first 5 rounds of the fight. I think we are getting a little over the top in accolades for Lopez. He did what you should do in a championship fight: He came to win. Turns out that was enough against Lomachenko who just did not realize he should throw punches.
