There is no confirmation if Chris Eubank Jr. - who holds the WBA's interim-title - will be elevated to the position of "regular" champion.
Boxing politics are so dirty, that demoting these paper-champs would be greater progress.

If I remember correctly, the WBA super championship was created for champions who unify with another title.

Most, if not all Super champions aren't even unified with another title.

It was ridiculous enough to create the super championship, but it's much worse now that they haven't followed their own rules in years. And now the WBC is competing with them to see who can be the worst.

I made a thread about this & I'm sure plenty of other ppl made YouTube vids about what bs the WBA belt situation was,& it shows they listened because they coincidentally made the decision yesterday right after everyone was saying what a joke their org is & how we expected them to not recognize Murata as he deserved. Well now hopefully Charlo or Andrade can get off their ass & fight Murata.

The article implies that these WBA cronies really do listen when they are ridiculed constantly by the whole of boxing.

Its almost like the WBA and WBC are competing for sanctioning fees by offering sweet deals to world class boxers : the WBA has the 'Regular' and 'Super' package, with the bonus of a 'promotion' to full champ status.

Mauricio Sauliman, came along and top that and promised his stable, 'Silver' & 'Diamond' championships but then raised his game and made the 'Franchise' belt!

And Gennady was accepting large compensation for step aside money. 'Lil-G' was on that gravy train when Miguel Cotto and Saul Alvarez where at 160.
