Based on what? He achieved great things both amateur and pro.
And please don’t cite his early losses that where due to cut eye stoppages, under modern rules he’d have won the vast majority of them by decision as the cuts were cause by head clashes.
Have you actually watched Minter or are you another member of the boxrec brigade?Comment

It's important to add the context, which is what you asked for so in regards to your question:I don't disrespect boxers who have obviously contributed greatly to boxing history. I want to learn about Hagler's best fights/opponents. But just off skimming his resume, he beat Duran who was a lightweight, Hearns who has a welterweight, and definitely lost to SRL imo...
What are the defining fights for Hagler so I can check them out? Thanks!
1. Roberto Duran wasn't just a lightweight. That description would make sense if all of his success happened at 135 but that's not the case. Duran was one of the best (if not the best) lightweight ever and he defeated Iran Barkley for a middleweight title six years AFTER the Hagler fight. Duran is an all-time great.
2. Tommy Hearns wasn't just a welterweight. He won titles from 147 all the way up to cruiserweight. Once again, he is another all-time great
3. Sugar Ray Leonard won titles from 147 all the way up to 168-175. Another all-time great.Comment

Yes I watched film on him, as mentioned earlier. He wasn't good by today's standards.Based on what? He achieved great things both amateur and pro.

Different game back then man, different era. I think he would be a fringe guy today at MW. Maybe a Macklin type of guy.Comment
