so why was Davis 1st choice Abner Mares(pre-injury)and then Lsc?? Hispanic fighters with huge west coast fanbases! Both were huge mismatches for a ppv main event - but that didn’t stop the fight from being made and on ppv. Cant make a profit without Hispanic fanbase. All of Davis recent fights have been against over-matched Hispanic fighters for a reason - appeal, profit, and protecting that 0!

If they make the fight next then it does great numbers since it’s a fight that is a toss up. If they marinate this fight it loses its luster.

I agree as the the fighters look vulnerable in future fights it will tarnish the sell ability. Not knowing who wins make it compelling.

Both fighters have had their careers guided. That should happen. Nobody gets into boxing to not make money. We saw Max Kellerman tell a champion in Teophemo don’t fight Haney. Actually it’s to build your fan base across multiple demographics. It’s smart promotion and good business. Further, the adage that you can’t make a profit without a Hispanic fan base presumes that you know all the financials for those bouts that didn’t have a Hispanic opposition which we know to not be true.
