Does Ryan lose his mandatory position if he doesn't take the Haney fight next?
Garcia vs Haney is a microcosm for “ducking” and meritocracy in Boxing

Lol, Loma avoided Berchelt, thats smth new, next thing you'll hear Is Loma moved to 135 because of BercheltI don't believe anyone is afraid of losing. Loma can't be the only one that is allowed to not take fights to prevent losing before a huge payday. Haney nor Teo tried to avoid Loma.
Loma was the guy that avoided Haney. He did same with Berchelt when he was at 130. Now Tank may end up doing the same thing and avoid Loma. We agree that isn't right.Comment

Succinct and to the point...i think its fairly simple and obvious....teo gets his shot at greatness because bob cant really lose no matter who wins....he makes money and has dibs on the winner
haney/loma is a financial nightmare because its not a big ppv fight and it will go against one of the networks....and while i think haney is willing to take the risk of losing i dont think bob fancies his guy losing to a DAZN guy and have nothing to show for itComment

Bold is flat out untrue. It’s actually really good, the situation with Haney vs Garcia because it gives you a perspective as to why accomplished boxers choose to do things their way or how accomplished boxers battle splits and politics.
Haney vs Garcia is simple.
1.) Haney is known for the guy whom said he wouldn’t let a “white boy” (Campbell) beat him or whatever.
2.) Garcia fought Campbell.
To be fair, it’s not Haney’s problem he was given a belt without a fight. Sure it’s corny, but don’t you think Haney is just exercising his perk? What else would Haney do? He’s not giving to forfeit a free belt because it was given to him. The reality of that, holding a World title without a fight IS MIND BOGGLING and way different than being elevated by having a significant win.
Why should Garcia fight Haney? It doesn’t give fair earnings perspective to Ryan. Again, it’s not Haney’a fault and I doubt Team Haney would admit it, but you have to put in seats earn a belt the hard way.” Isn’t that fair?
With Haney having a belt he automatically gets the perk of a high % (such as purse bid rules) without having fought someone whereas others had to fight for a belt to get the same perk.
So, why does Ryan have to fight Haney?
Horn as WBO champion took (willingly) B-Side split against Crawford.
Formella as IBO champion took B-Side split against Porter.
Ruiz as unified champion took B-Side split in the Joshua rematch.Comment
