Garcia vs Haney is a microcosm for “ducking” and meritocracy in Boxing

It’s actually really good, the situation with Haney vs Garcia because it gives you a perspective as to why accomplished boxers choose to do things their way or how accomplished boxers battle splits and politics.

    Haney vs Garcia is simple.

1.) Haney is known for the guy whom said he wouldn’t let a “white boy” (Campbell) beat him or whatever.

    2.) Garcia fought Campbell.

To be fair, it’s not Haney’s problem he was given a belt without a fight. Sure it’s corny, but don’t you think Haney is just exercising his perk? What else would Haney do? He’s not giving to forfeit a free belt because it was given to him. The reality of that, holding a World title without a fight IS MIND BOGGLING and way different than being elevated by having a significant win.

Why should Garcia fight Haney? It doesn’t give fair earnings perspective to Ryan. Again, it’s not Haney’a fault and I doubt Team Haney would admit it, but you have to put in seats earn a belt the hard way.” Isn’t that fair?

With Haney having a belt he automatically gets the perk of a high % (such as purse bid rules) without having fought someone whereas others had to fight for a belt to get the same perk.

So, why does Ryan have to fight Haney?

Ryan shouldn’t fight Haney next, Loma should.

While you make a salient point, the problem with your point is Haney is the victim.

By being denied his title shot, Haney was denied the chance to elevate himself.

He doesn’t fill seats right now. Does that change if he fights and defeats one of the top 2 or 3 p4p fighters in the world? Possibly.

Worst case- he loses a big profile fight against Loma and has to rebuild. Best case- he beats Loma and becomes the top guy in the division and follows that fight with either a high profile rematch with Loma or the Teo unification.

Win those and I’m sure he increases his fanbase and ability to draw. If nothing else he becomes the highest ranked p4p fighter on DAZN and can piggy back off AJ, which surely would help his profile.

Haney already have 2 mandatory Ryan and Fortuna so pick one...... Loma need to do his work at 130

I get that he has mandatory requirements. My point is addressing the thread. What happened to Haney is one of the things that is wrong with the sport IMO. Whether he fights Ryan or Fontura next, he shouldn't have been denied a chance at greatness.

Yes sir. If you go by the rankings of who beat who then Teo is the A side at 135. Then you have Ryan and Loma in the next tier. Tank would be next he beat LSC who was small but he was highly regarded in name only. Haney beat The guy that Tank beat before. Tank got the guy out of there and Haney didnt sorry. Haney needs to fight Fortuna anyway.

i think its fairly simple and obvious....teo gets his shot at greatness because bob cant really lose no matter who wins....he makes money and has dibs on the winner

haney/loma is a financial nightmare because its not a big ppv fight and it will go against one of the networks....and while i think haney is willing to take the risk of losing i dont think bob fancies his guy losing to a DAZN guy and have nothing to show for it

for once i agree with you
Haney vs loma is the obvious choice
IF Haney loses, then Bob is happy as they've spanked one of Eddie's potential future stars.
If Haney wins then it makes a fight vs Lopez HUGE.
