Double standard: Andrade can pull out of top fights due to money

In 2014 Andrade and Charlo had agreed to fight eachother on December 2014. Andrade pulled out of the fight in November 2014, citing money as the issue.

My question is this, how come Andrade gets a pass for pulling out of fights due to money but other fighters that have bigger fish to try have to be charitable to Andrade and give him a big money fight when they can earn more money fighting another fighter?

He did it himself, he ducked out, backed out of fighting Charlo 1 month prior to the fight because he wanted to be greedy and listen to Roc Nation or whoever it was who told him he can make more money than that. But if Canelo, GGG, and even Charlo now have bigger fish to fry and he gets left out in the cold because the above mentioned fighters want to fight for more money than they can get from fighting Andrade, then they are the bad guys and Andrade is the poor little guy who boxing forgot about.

    Double standard.

This is not the full story though. Showtime never sent them an executed contract. They just put the fight on their schedule without ever having Andrade's lawyers or agents even look at it first.

I won't go into it all, but you are leaving out a lot of critical details.

I never understood the big deal about Andrade in the first place. He had one solid win against Vaynes then did fuck all for like 6 years after that. He fought once a year and shamelessly ducked the rest of the 154 pound division. He's not particularly exciting to watch either.

To be fair, the BJS fight falling through wasn't his fault.

You never have any issue going into any details when in this forum. Nothing is stopping you now. You are not censored, you aren’t ignored. Please tell us what Andrade was trying to accomplish when he pulled out of the Charlo fight with only a matter of weeks to go for fight night.

To be fair, the BJS fight falling through wasn't his fault.
He has a total of 5 recognizable names on his resume, that a hardcore boxing fan would recognize and say “oh i’ve heard that name/seen that fighter before”.

              Vanes
              Grady Brewer
              Freddy Hernandez
              Sulecki
              Culcay
And mayyyybe Saul Duran because he has been a jobber since the 1990s

This is a highly underwhelming list of names for a soon to be 33 year old. While it is true that BJS was not his fault, Charlo was. And someone as ducked and avoided as GGG was still managing to at least fight fringe contenders like Ouma, Rubio, Proksa, Stevens, Lemiuex, Geale, etc.

I find it very hard to believe that Andrade could not at least get some lower tier contenders like GGG was able to get. And GGG is more dangerous than Andrade. If you get in the ring with GGG, you’re risking a brutal KO loss. If you get in the ring with Andrade, well:

              Vanes SD
              F. Hernandez UD
              Sulecki UD
              Culcay SD

I also thought Alantez Fox didn’t look too bad vs Andrade. Andrade definitely looked underwhelming, albeit winning clearly. I didn’t like Andrade’s lack of activity and just reluctant to let his hands go and put together more than 2 punches at a time. But Fox didn’t look terrible in that fight. That was until I saw Liam Williams vs Fox after that, and saw Fox get brutally stopped by Liam Williams. Williams showed there was levels between him and Fox. Something Andrade doesn’t seem to care about showing to fans and journalists.

So like you, I am baffled as to what is the big deal about Andrade. He is not dangerous, he’s very inactive, he throws 2 punches at a time max, even vs completely outmatched opponents. I think the top don’t want to fight him, genuinely because he is boring and doesn’t bring enough to the table. And not because they are “scared” to lose to him.

This guy is talking about something happened 6 years ago close to 7.

Andrade wants GGG charlo canelo now, 2020/2021 and they dont want to fight

                Its pretty obvious

Andrades best bets would be to move up and force the Saunders fight, or target a derevyanchenko fight. Probably the two highest profile fights that are immediately feasible. I heard the talks of him vs ggg but for some reason I have my doubts that one happens.

I can't find the interview but he did a very long interview like right after the fight was cancelled explaining what really happened. Ill see if I can find it.
