It was a masterful performance by Ioka. He boxed beautifully and kept landing solid, clean shots. Tanaka was hurt by his over confidence, he thought that his relentless aggression would wilt Ioka, it didn't. I tuned in live at the end of round 6 (on a YT stream so it wasn't the best quality) and it seemed like Tanaka's constant pressure would get to Ioka, then the KO in round 8 seemed premature at the time. After watching the replay I was able to see Ioka was dodging/blocking/rolling with most punches while landing clean solid shots of his own. The ref probably saved the kid's career cause he seemed game to continue which could have gotten him seriously hurt. Ioka vs Estrada would be a Hella of a fight I hope 2021 delivers it.

I'm from the Philippines. Nietes is good.

But I was frustrated in the way he handled his career.

He didint really took risk and just fought in and around the Philippines. He was old when he took on high profile fights.

Too many what ifs. But it really is just his fault.

What a ******** fight. Two warriors, same country, no A-side BS like we get from other countries, fighting their rivals and matching up to complete 2020. Cong**** to Ioka and hope Tanaka takes a lot from this defeat.

Kudos to the referee, i like this stoppage. He recognised at that point that Tanaka has had enough and he stopped him from getting hurt a lot more, he is young and would process this and come back with less damage.
