Kell didn't have discipline after his big win away over Porter. He went off the rails and lost traction then.
Obviously, his Promoter Eddie Hearn didn't care about him and fed him to the GGG (because Eddie screwed up in securing Chris Eubanks Jr for Golovkin in London).
brook was a decent solid B level fighter before getting beat up badly by Ggg and that eye was gone and it showed in the Spence fight so by the time he faced Crawford he was as shot as they come plain n simple.
Top WW maybe but never elite. He really didn't beat anybody of note and did not have a good run either. Because he was content in fighter euro fighters he never was in contention to fight May or Pac even when he was smack in the middle in that era.
Always hurt, always in some altercation, fighting a name fighter and then do a switch and fight a second or third tier fighter.
I don't get where anybody says he was elite and he gets way too much credit for the GGG loss.
Fair enough. I like to look at fighter's resumes in comparison to other fighters.
We agree that he was a top welterweight prior to fighting GGG and his best win is a prime Shawn Porter. He actually handed Porter his first loss and he went on the road to do it. It was an impressive win but unfortunately Brook never followed it up during his prime run at 147
Besides that he put up valiant efforts against GGG at middleweight and then he gave Errol Spence Jr. his big break in their fight.
Unfortunately we are often left to speculate about fights at the top level because guys only get in the ring twice a year at most and fights don't get made due to promotional differences and what not.
