Even with fewer categories this year, three previous honorees are in the hunt to repeat in the year-end awards. Saul Canelo' Alvarez, Eddy Reynoso and Keith Connolly are among the 2019 year-end recipients who have made their way back to the ballot among the nominees announced for the 2020 Boxing Writers Associations of America (BWAA) awards. Just five categories will be featured for this year's awards, with the list of nominees formally announced by the organization on Monday.

For me, Teofimo Lopez is the fighter of the year and Zepeda-Baranchyk is the FOTY!

Zepeda-Baranchyk is fight of the year hands down, everyone knew the second the first knockdown was recorded it was going to be a barnburner

Agreed. What a year we got. We still have Ioka vs Tanaka to look forward to as well.

The 'TAKEOVER' Teofimo Lopez deserves 2020 BWAA FOTY : it only took him one try without illegal tactics to shock the world, against the #1. unified lightweight champion, who many considered #1. P4P. Teofimo was the underdog vs. Vasily Lomachenko, Gypsy-Bum Tyson Phooey was considered a live-dog and even the favorite in UK Sportsbooks.

16-0, lineal-unified lightweight champion of the world, no drug suspensions, no tune-ups.

Fury put on a great performance beating Wilder but I do think Lopez win is so much better on an achievement level.

              To me

Teofimo Lopez - fighter of the year
Derrick James - Trainer of the year.

Comeback of the year goes to Spence. Fighting a top 5 welterweight after a horrendous crash and 15 months of inactivity is nothing short of impressive.
