Kirkland has been done for years. Hopefully he retires, he has one of the worst chin-defence combos I have seen at contender level.....worse than Tommy Morrison

Hats off to the winner, Kirkland is done.

Kirkland vs Conyers is still one of my favorite 1 round fights. I remember him and Angulo were on that collision course, pure KOs in their paths. Good old days. Anyway that'll be 4 bucks a pound.

Kirkland looked slow and lethargic, better to get knocked out in 1 round than take punishment. He was never the same after the Canelo KO

nah, he just wasn’t the same when he wasn’t being trained by Ann Wolfe. First fight she didn’t train him, he was ko’d in one by Ishida. Then she got him back on track. Then they fell out again and he went a year and a half without a fight and then got ko’d against Canelo. Then backed out of a Cotto fight before finally coming back but by it’s been too long for a pressure fighter with a weak chin to take that sort of layoff and make any real noise.

His Ls on the street prevented him from taking more Ls in the ring.

Watched the fight and realized I saw him demolish Glen Tapia live in AC over 7 years ago. Man time flies...James very shopworn at this stage.

His total time of being out of the ring was 13 years. No boxer can expect to maintain world class level let alone gate keeper with 13 years out of the ring
