I view Yildrim as a nothing opponent, but given the quick turnaround from the last fight I can't complain.

What a slap in the face to the fine people of Guadalajara by bringing this bulls*** fight that nobody cares for to their city.

NOBODY cares about these other fighters that pose no real threat to Canelo. Boxing is in dire need of unpredictable championship belts on the line asap. Canelo vs Charlo is ready right now. Does anyone disagree and if so, how??????

He seems to have very little desire to fight Americans. If you look at his resume over the past 5 years, there’s a heavy focus on facing European fighters. He’s only faced 1 American and 1 Mexican in the last 5 years. Can’t think of any other “face of boxing” that has focused so heavily on facing Europeans.

I don't see a lot of difference between this fight and the Smith fight - yes I realize Smith was a champ - but to me he had no style, no flare to beat Canelo. Same with Yildirim. At least he will be active again though so I'll wait and see what happens. My position is I'd just rather the face of the sport not be fighting predictable styles and taking criticism all the time for the matchmaking

It's a mandatory and was agreed to in order to move forward with th fight for WBC & WBA titles. Look back in boxing history, all champions take some easier fights. Bottom line: don't like it, don't buy or watch It!

If u noticed, Floyd didn't fight mandatories and if he did they were champions with belts.

Floyd said f#ck the mandatories! Oscar Dela Hater, Hatton,Ortiz,Cotto, Guerrero, Canelo,MaidanaPac all had belts when Floyd beat them. Canelo needs to step up and fight some real dudes!! He calls the shots so he has no excuses.
