Mayweather and Lara were many years ago. The fighter Canelo was then isn't what he is now. He can cut the ring off, walk bigger punchers down, elusive and his timing>speed. GGG had success in the first fight, but Alvarez adapted and made adjustments in the 2nd. You can't base Charlo's success on a fighter's past performances, especially when he has grown exponentially since.

Then he should have no problems beating up Charlo. We finally agree....the fight should happen. I look forward to talking the fight with you when this big PPV happens

That's an all together other issue that I have with a lot of People. Just cause you speak Spanish doesn't make you nonblack. You are still of African decent. Hell Lara has more African in him than 50 percent of NBA players, right?

If you never seen him before and seen him on the street you would describe him as a black guy not a Cuban.

Go to Bahia in Brazil and they are all Africans, many of them are pure Africans 100% and they speak Portuguese. They are still black. If Lara had move to southcentral LA when he was 2 years old he would be just another black dude.

I haven't seen any evidence he can cut the ring off against a guy who moves as well as Lara and Floyd. Not saying Charlo is like those 2, but you can't tell me that guys like GGG/Kovalev/Smith fight off the back foot/counter/move as well as Charlo. They don't.

Fair enough. Look, I respect your opinion, I just don't think Canelo's is ducking a fighter whom is 1 division below him. That's like saying Jermell is ducking Spence Jr atleast in my book it is. Either way, I want to see Charlo vs Alvarez in the future, but Charlo really needs to step up to 168 and earn a belt to get Canelo's attention, or clean out 160 and make his name resonate throughout the sport. For now, all he has going for him is his obnoxious mouth.

It should happen and i hope it does. The ball is on Charlo's court, meaning it all depends on whether or not he decides to move up and take over 168. If Canelo has 0 enthusiasm to go back down to 160 even for his arch nemesis in GGG, whom he could potentially bid farewell in a brutal fashion at this point, what makes anyone believe he would drop for Charlo? Especially if he is comfortable at 168.

We're good. I think he had a chance to fight him at 160 and 154, but I think him and his team just know his style presents more problems than someone like a Golovkin or Smith. Not saying Charlo wins, but he brings things to the table that other recent Canelo opponents don't.

Nothing like a Haymon represented PBC fighter to bring out the closet racists and Canelo man fans alike.....all of a sudden, “who’s he fought”, “get a belt”, “he already made you an offer” etc etc protectionism from the Johnny come lately, social media, boy band fans.
Meanwhile.....Canelo fights the likes of no hopers Callum Smith, Liam Smith, frequently beat up and knocked out kovalev, cream puff Chavez, severely limited and boring Jacobs, Anti-Rocky Fielding, oh and most likely Yldirim or whatever the Turks name is. Rather than fight Benavidez, Plant, Charlo, Andrade....

I agree with you and may I add Canelo is following the Floyd marketing ploy fighting the hopeless and avoiding the dangerous....all we need now is for Canelo to retire whenever the Super Middleweight heats up..(like you know who retired when 147 heated up)the hamonites have a big problem with errol not wanting to fight Bud (60/40 and now 70/30 bull$#!+) us fans need to hold the fighters accountable.....but it is difficult because the blacks are gonna back their kind and the Mexicans are gonna do the same....this is why I Love Boxing....you can be for your clan and nobody can call you racist....Here in Texas us Texas Men can clearly see The State of Boxing...Us Texas Men believe Bud is the Best at 47 and Chanelo is the Best at 68 and Ofcourse Fury is the Best at Heavyweight.....but my favorite division is SuperFly....Happy NewYear

Charlo is a fine fighter, and I think would be more competitive than Jacobs, but Canelo is on another level. He'd beat Charlo over the distance, if not a late stoppage.

Charlo would have a better chance against Golovkin, a closer fight.
