Kudos to Callum Smith

At 6"4 and with his reach, I think his game plan was terrible.
Alvarez is not the fastest fighter on his feet, and was able to get close far too easily.
There is no way, Alvarez would be able to play around in the middleweight and super-middleweight divisions during the 90's and early 2000's without being sparked out etcComment

I agree. He was game and displayed a tremendous amount of championship heart but he was just outclassed and overmatched by a much better and more experienced fighter that's all.
Now, in regards to my first reply; I was actually right. It was after the ninth round when his corner man whispered into his ear saying he was giving him one last round and Callum Smith response was never.Comment

Just watched Callum's interview with Boxing Social. He was pretty honest about things, to his enormous credit.
He was saying how it was tough to keep punching against Canelo's defence. If a punch gets blocked you are encouraged, but when you're hitting fresh air you start to lose a bit of commitment in throwing the shots.
He also put the injury down to Canelo targeting his left arm to stop his favoured catch and throw. He considered it a very smart move.
Really interesting interview. Smith is certainly no bum - but he's just levels below Canelo, as most are.Comment
