I don`t wanna see this guy again. When he beat Groves, I actually thought he was good.

Bicep injury or not, Smith lost in convincing fashion. The only person who took a bigger L on the night was commentator Brian Kenny. It was hard to hear him most of the time due to Canelo's willy being so far down his throat, but things like...
Kenny: That should have been a knockdown, the ropes held him up.
Smoger: That shouldn't have been a knockdown.
Kenny: Yea I agree.
And...
Kenny: Canelo is now a three division world champion.
Mora: He's a four division world champion.
Kenny; No, three! He won a title at 175 but it was against Kovalev. So he's a three division champion!
And...
Kenny: The corner should think about stopping this, Smith is taking a bad beating.
Mora: No they shouldn't. He's taking a beating but he's still in the fight, he's still throwing back.
Kenny: Yea I agree.
Calzaghe: It's maybe getting near that time that Smith's corner should start taking a real look at possibly stopping it.
Kenny: OMG JOE I LOVE YOU PLEASE LET ME MASSAGE YOUR PROSTATE I SO TOTALLY AGREE.
What an absolute tool.

I actually thought it was a spirited effort from Smith. He clearly lost but I did give him 3 rds. Even though he was losing I thought he kept trying.

I respect his courage to go out on his shield if necessary & I am surely of the few that thinks we haven't seen the last of him at 175 next I assume,I actually think he can learn from this & bounce back at a weak 175 division & maybe fight for a title when hes no longer going to be fighting a short compact counterpunching quick fighter like Canelo,
I think Smith would fare much better against opponents his own size & if he bulks up he'll likely gain some power & stamina thats lacking because he has to make 168 whichbis unnatural for someone so huge.

Ah, I think we should give Callum Smith a break. The English love their working class fighting heroes, but in boxing (and other sports) they are kept from top level competition for too long. Canelo is the best fighter in the world right now, and Smith managed to stay on his feet. Frankly his corner probably should have stopped it.

I’m not sure if this is what Smith typically fights like as I haven’t followed him very much, but unless the short notice and weight was an issue for him, he’s as basic as they come. Slow feet, fairly slow hands , no head movement, and an active but not very effective jab. I think there are several guys from 160-168 who’d have beaten the Smith I saw in the ring last night. But canelo did what he was supposed to do.
