Predictable result. Smith had huge reach advantage but just like so many fighters - had never fought anyone elite (or even very good). Canelo fights elite fighters for breakfast.

You can't beat Canelo on hope, you got to learn your skills first. Why no step-up before going straight to Canelo?? Least Smith will get better now he lost. But when he does improve - he wont get another shot at Canelo. Wasted his chance. Just like novice Canelo wasted his against Mayweather

He looked shot to **** at that weight, no power, energy and no chance.

Personally, I think he should get some credit for sticking it through to the final bell, and his arm was also ****ed. Truth is, he in no way should have been in the same ring as Canelo, totally outclassed, outgunned and lacking a quality chemist that Canelo must have, not that it would have made any difference.

There is a reason the Canelo team took this fight. Smith doesn't use his height and reach. It didn't matter during the fight. He looked like a deer in the headlights and could not figure out how he was being set up.

Kudos to him for finishing the fight. I thought he was going to do a Bambi impression sometime during the fight.

Smith is a bigger version of Rocky Fielding. If he moves up and he gets stopped early and often.

I think Smith would fare much better against opponents his own size & if he bulks up he'll likely gain some power & stamina thats lacking because he has to make 168 whichbis unnatural for someone so huge.
I agree with and I am not a fan of British fighters either but I call them like I see them . Smith will do well at 175.

I don’t think he could! He didn’t have the power to keep Canelo off him, he just walked him down, cutting the ring off

To use his height he needed a stiffer jab

Canelo was happy to take one and counter.

Also think Smith felt Canelos power early on and was scared the throw shots. Stats show he threw a lot, but just pitta patta, think he was scared to commit with power shot for fear of being countered
