Marchegiano i’m not sure if this is a sarcastic/troll thread but I lean to it being serious because nothing about you screams troll. You are usually making good, quality posts.

All I will say is that Jack Dempsey was too small to ever get in ring with a giant like Anthony Joshua. Dempsey today would even be too small for Cruiserweight. He would have make 175lbs and then rehydrate to his usual 188-190lbs.

Now let’s say today in 2020, Dempsey comes in and there is same day weigh ins, he would still just be a small Cruiserweight at 190lbs.

Before anyone says “Ruiz doe”...Ruiz is also a big boy at 260lbs (in shape) to 283lbs (out of shape, career high).

These are some big, heavy, agile and athletic HW’s now. The big HW’s Dempsey did fight were usually journeymen.

Now if we are being fair we should be discussing fights like Dempsey vs: (@ 175lbs with rehydration allowed)

    Roy Jones Jr
Gene Tunney (I know they fought at HW)
    Bernard Hopkins
    Carl Froch
    Andre Ward
    Archie Moore
    Joe Calzaghe
    Michael Spinks
    Mikkel Kessler
    Ezzard Charles
    Etc.

Willard was a bum with zero skills

Go grab some random dude out of the strongman contests and put them in with Bertebiev and he will murder them to death

Willard was literally a circus freak who wouldn't last a round vs Charles martin

Since when is beating foreign opponents a ATG category? Fook man in Dempsey's era you had to get on a boat for 2 years to sail across the world to fight a foreign opponent so obviously he'd have a much lower number there as I'm sure most guys did back then compared to guys nowadays. Hell AJ or anyone else just needs to send someone a $1,500 airline ticket & their whole career could be against foreign fighters.

Also if AJ woulda been around in Dempsey's day he'd be a straight dosser cuz once he got dropped or shook he'd be done with his opponent hovering over him waiting for him to raise so they could plaster him upside the head for the finale.

That said its sci fi ATG fantasy sh^t so if you or anyone else wants to say JCC Jr is a better ATG than Ali its a fair game to say it.

Just to bring you upto date - he has now fought in ten world title fights, won 9, lost 1. He has an extra KO to his name, this happened last Saturday night. You should look it up on YouTube as it was quite a nice knockdown actually.
          LOL this.

I glossed over that part, but yea AJ got KTFO by Ruiz. He's not undefeated in championship fights.

Why don't you ask him if he's one of the greats?

I have no real dog in this fight, but damn you just kind of killed him there

We can all cherry pick opinions from higher authorities, and, I never said he isn't one of the greatest. I said Joshua has done more.

                  Ezzard Charles
                  Etc.
Bit of both, you can have a valid point while ****ing about, but, if it's here and not under history I'm going to tailor it for NSB....ya know, but ****ty-over the top.

I do honestly believe Dempsey's resume gets overrated because Dempsey was a great HW and people just assume his resume is too. Dempsey's more a h2h challenge than a real award gatherer or dominant champion.

I do honestly believe in terms of global dominance and resume Joshua has outshined Jack.

Actually I think h2h Jack would beat AJ. I only believe AJ has a better resume and is more dominant in his era.

Jack Dempsey is very good at landing and landing hard. He'd hit Joshua and I'm sure lay him out. He's no stranger to fighting big guys, he loved them in his camps. Battling Ghee thought no man could hurt him with 12 ouncer on so Jack hired him as a sparring partner. Jack then busted him up, KO'd him, propped him and knocked him out again. Battler would spend the rest of his time in camp a pacified kitten until Jack cut him. Dempsey's career is full of these stories.

However, usually, we don't go by h2h to rank ATGs. Nearly everyone agrees h2h Vitali's a killer but it's Wlad with the awards and such and so Wlad usually outranks his brother.

Dempsey has like one win worth mention really, gibbons, Sharkey's his best name value but Sharkey is a DQ win and kinda a ****ty/dirty fight all around. That's why mugs are trying to play like Willard wasn't ****ty.
