Wlad is ok and Ward does not deserve? Wlad lost to Puritty, Brewster, Sanders, Fury, AJ.Wlad was dropped by Peter, Pannell.Biggest wins - cruiserweight Haye, ex middleweight Byrd, Povetkin, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Peter. All these guys under 6'3 and 225 (except Peter)
Ward - never lost. Dropped by prime knockout artist Kovalev but still won, dropped by Bune and that guy dropped Kovalev, Stevenson too and Ward still won. Biggest wins - Kovalev, Kessler, Froch, Dawson, Abraham. Only Abraham was a smaller guy and difference wasnt ridicilous like Wlad vsByrd or Ibragimov or Haye.

All I have to say is that all those who are keeping Toney out because of failed drug tests better keep that same energy when Canelo is up for nomination.

Unless you count Sergio Martinez as a great win.

Got emasculated by Margarito in the first fight. In the second fight he was lucky enough they stopped it when Margarito started to put it on him

His best win is Paulie Malignaggi

This dude is not a HOF

If he ever gets in by some miracle, it'll be because of the same reason Arturo Gatti got in
I don't like to get in debates but he beat Mosley and Judah too, not to mention that he gave Floyd a very hard fight and did not get demolished by Canelo.

          Cotto was a great fighter.

I would've put Toney instead of Ward but I got no problem with Ward getting it.

Toney is an ATG to me, I know he has 10 loses but he beat a ton of top names and jumped from MW to LHW, that's just unheard of.

At the same time Ward deserved it because he beat the best around his divisions when he fought, he had a controversial win vs Kovalev but on paper he beat him.

I think this could've had something to do with out of the ring scandals and Toney getting caught using PEDS.

Cotto fought a ton of top competition, the problem I got with him is that he did not win his biggest fights, IMHO his biggest wins are Martinez, Mosley, Margarito and Judah and I put them in that specific order, I think he had a great career the problem is the list was very competitive, had he been inducted on another class he definitely would've made it first ballot.

For me James Toney is a first ballot hall of famer. Ward and Klit could've gone in next year, he fought way tougher comp than them, IMHO. Feel bad for Toney missing out this year.

                      Eligibility
Professional boxers become eligible for election into the International Boxing Hall of Fame five years after their retirement.

How are floydie, wlad and ward getting nominated then? floydie's STILL fighting, and the McGregor fight was just 3 years ago. And don't say that one was just an exhibition. It counted on his actual boxing record (look it up), so it either was or was not an actual fight. Same with ward... Kovalev fight 3 years ago, same with Wlad... 3 years since Joshua fight. Oh wait... all of boxing is bought and paid for... especially regarding floydie/ward/wlad. Sorry, forgot that for a sec. Never mind.

                      SMH
They changed it to 3 years retired instead of 5 years retired last year.
