He's a true warrior, and deserves all the respect from boxing fans around the world.
I felt like the KO was worrying too--arms flayling back in the air..

Both took a lot of damage

That was a fantastic fight, Nakatani and Verdejo both showed thier strengths and their weakness that night. I hope both can bounce back.

You cowards just won’t leave it alone will you? I don’t even care for Dubois as a boxer however it’s easy for an armchair QB, basement dwelling, yellow coward to second guess a man who doctors informed had he continued would be blind. You want to call him a quitter because you have malicious intent behind your words.

You don’t respect boxing. You’re a celebrity worshipping clown ass who takes pleasure in ridiculing public figures from the anonymity of a keyboard because that’s the easy thing to do. That’s why on a thread having nothing at all to do with Dubois you thought it proper to mention his name so that you feel better about yourself. You’re pathetic.

You cowards are all the same

Damn, makes that win all the more impressive. Kid was getting beat up first half and the comeback already made me a fan. Just goes to show though there's no-one harder to beat than a guy who just won't give up.

Hope the dude recovers Ok though, those are the kinda injuries that can shorten careers.

You’re right and that’s not really what I’m referring to when I talk about putting Dubois down. I’m more so referring to those who are trying to use Nakatani as proof that Dubois is a quitter and a coward. Different fighters have different breaking points and both guys were in different situations

For anyone who is using this to kick Dubois when he's down, Dubois lasted 6 rounds with the injury, Nakatani didn't have 2 fractures or nerve damage as far as we're aware, and more importantly, not retinal haemorrhaging, Nakatani did well to get the win with that injury as he did, especially after being down twice, but his eye injury wasn't half as bad as Dubois's.

Google the story of Hiroo Onada. A ww2 Japanese imperial army officer that chose to spend 29 years in the jungle in the Philippines instead of surrender to Americans.

Nakatani is simply cut from the same cloth. Just like Arturo Gatti was.
Sounds like two different fighters right? That’s what you just described and yes Nakatani clearly displayed the death before dishonor mentality, which was his choice.

Dubois decided it was best to preserve his eye, which was his choice as well.

My point is that Nakatani can receive his well-deserved kudos for his performance without everyone piling on Dubois for surrendering with an injury.

Guys like Lucas Matthyse and Alfredo Angulo also quit with eye injuries and they won their share of wars.

At the end of the day boxing is a sport and hopefully Nakatani and Dubois make full recoveries from their injuries

Yeah that was a terrible reaction from getting dropped by that power jab. It actually looked as if was reacting to being shot, he just doesn't take a power punch well especially in the latter rounds. That's a shame because Verdejo can box well, and has great knockout power. Nakatani has an incredible chin, most fighters would've been knocked out by some of the power shot's that Verdejo was landing on him. That was truly a very good fight between them, and Nakatani deserves the world of praise for his warriors heart. That said he can't continue to take these kinds of beating, they will ultimately leave him with permanent, and career ending damage.

I appreciate that brother, I also hope that they will bounce back. They are both warriors, and if Nakatani didn't have that granite chin, he would've been stopped. Unfortunately for Verdejo, Nakatani does have a granite chin, and Verdejo doesn't. Nakatani also has an enormous heart, withstanding power punches from both Teofimo Lopez, and Felix Verdejo. Unfortunately for Nakatani, he won't be able to take these types of beatings for much longer.
