Basically I saw him replicate the gameplan that Jacobs used vs GGG to at least go 12, but I didn't think Canelo had that in his arsenal.

In fight 2, he really impressed me with how he held the ring vs GGG. And even in round 5, I think, he was backing GGG up and making him fight on the back foot.

But that round kind of sums up the fight for me. Canelo did some good stuff and was impressive, but so did GGG, and GGG outworked him in that round, and in most rounds in the fight.

I've yet to see one round in either fight where I come away saying - clear Canelo round. GGG outlands him almost every round, and it's hard to find a round where Canelo outlands GGG by a few punches and lands the best shot or shots of the round.

Idk I just don't think those fights were THAT close or that hard to score. GGG got through on my cards because of the constant workrate and scoring with the jab. Canelo fights in spurts too much. If he had better stamina and could fight more actively, he truly would be a real ATG in my eyes. It is his only real flaw.

    -----

Hopkins was so unpredictable, anything was possible. I think sometimes he had a great feel for the opponent and could shut them down. And other times he himself was a bit neutralized and made what should have been a win for him into a competitive fight.

I really have no idea how him and GGG would have matched up - GGG seems to land the jab on everyone, but Hopkins has a big reach advantage I assume, and would probably be the toughest guy to land the jab on. If GGG can find him with the jab, I favor GGG. If not you have to favor BHop.
You're a **********. You were probably watching Fox News with the Jim Lampley screaming at maximum volume "****, ****, ****, ****"

No wonder you had Borat winning every fight. Hell you probably have Borat beating Beterbiev and they never even fought (you probably had to look that up, boy)

Are you crying as you type tonight, be honest.

I don't really watch fox news or any news at all. I don't know if you've been keeping up btw, but most Trump supporters don't rock with Fox anymore. Fox is pretty terrible these days.

I had it 6-6 with Sergei, giving GGG the win with the KD. I had his fight with Ouma tied before GGG KOed him. Yeah those are the only 2 though that I had tied more or less, at the time the fight stopped.

On rewatch I had it 7-5 GGG in the Sergei fight, but I could see someone giving Sergei 7 rounds live. I certainly could have. It was very close and GGG is fortunate he got the KD and opened up the big cut in round 2.

The tape is out there. It doesn't lie.

The article from Weisfeld pointed out how judges score fights, and what they look for - as he said, all judges are scoring is what punches land, and how effective those punches are. I listed the article in efforts to help those on here, who seem to not really know how to score fights at all.

That Weisfeld scored a fight for Canelo is not relevant. We all know corruption exists in boxing. It happens all the time. Every weekend really.

        3 key points

1 - knowing how to score a fight - Weisfeld knows how to

2 - being competent enough to know what you are seeing - Weisfeld is pretty good here too

3 - judges often times do what they are told, especially in important fights. Weisfeld obviously falls into this group too. If you want to work the big fights and get paid, you have to play the game.

anybody who understands boxing saw that Golovkin could not get his game going in EITHER fight with Canelo... and in the rematch, the fat red kid beat the Mexican out of that boy

only 97,000 shlthead fanboys run around spouting that "everyone knows Canelo lost both fights" garbage

FACT: you twisted Weisfeld's words... WITHOUT KNOWING that he was an official judge for that fight... which yea, is fkn hilarious looooooool

only a right fanboy goober would be that ******

you have said some super-dumb shlt, but that is definitely the funniest LMAO

I'm going to check the scoring manual - where is 'not being able to get your game going' listed in the criteria? And what does that have to do with who landed the better punches, and more of them. That's what you score man.

You don't judge fights on a curve, giving a guy extra points because he is the underdog. GGG could have performed better vs SD, Canelo and Danny in those 4 fights. Hate on him for that. But the only close fight scoring wise out of those 4 was vs Sergei.

If not getting your game going is a criterion, Canelo probably loses that one as well. I've never seen him fight like he did vs GGG in fight 1...have you?

wait, so.... you admit that Hypekin could not get his game going in either fight, you just don't think that matters? looooooooool

that is Ring Generalship kid... and that example also fell under defense, another legit scoring criteria that you NEEEEED to ignore

now I see why you twisted Weisfeld's words and attempted to eliminate 3 of the 4 official scoring criteria LMAO

dude, you have already died a hundred times on this topic, this is number 101

It's just common knowledge that when 2 good fighters face off, they will neutralize somewhat what the other one does well. They will both not look completely comfortable. You must be a bit new to the sport. May as well say Floyd lost both Maidana fights.

Canelo got his game going early, and late... which is why he sneaked a draw... Golovkin did not get his game going at all, so was lucky to salvage a draw... especially against a superstar, in Vegas
