Caleb Plant vs Chris Eubank Jr Rumored For January 30

Yeah, let’s see if Eubank has worked on dealing with a jab better too and improved his footwork/balanceMy thoughts exactly. Plant is getting ready for a showdown with Benavidez so he needs to get in there with someone who will have a good work rate for 12 rounds and never stop coming. Plant did have a few shaky moments at the end against Uzcategui, in otherwise a really good performance. Let's see if he is better fighting for 12 rounds now than he was then.
Hopefully his losses showed him that when fighters have a good jab and intelligent footwork, you can’t just bowl into them and swing, that’s exactly what they want. Doesn’t work at that level.
Eubank has never seemed to take things on board though, which would be his undoing against someone with Plant’s style.
Plant just needs to look at the Groves fight, or the first half of the BJS fight before BJS tired because he half trained.
The blueprint is there and Plant has the right style to use it.Comment

So I might give Eubank Jr a slim chance of nicking it in late rds due to his workrate. They guy is an athlete.Comment

I’ve only seen him hurt by Groves, he got dropped too which never got counted.
Groves was a serious puncher though. Even had Froch all over the place like we had never seen. Martin Murray said Groves power was far bigger than GGG in terms of single right hand shots. Everyone who faced Groves said his power was real though.
Plant won’t really hurt Eubank, but has the style to outbox him for sure. If Eubank has no respect for his power, it’ll be a great fight.Comment

Eubank is making it to the final bell, no doubt in my mind.
I do remember him slightly hurt against Groves, but even then he was mostly fine. He takes flush shots and a lot of times doesn't even blink. Interested in seeing what Roy has been able to do with him. Some of the videos he's been teaching him how to properly jab which he probably should have already learned, but better late than never.I’ve only seen him hurt by Groves, he got dropped too which never got counted.

Either way, it should be a pretty fun fight. Plant can move, but he throws some nice combinations and if Eubank is able to tire him late, then it's going to turn into a bit of a firefight.Comment

Eubank has a crazy engine. He’s very very athletic. He could give Plant problems if they fight in the inside since Plant at times seemed weird with Uzcategui at close encounters.
I see some cryptic matchmaking at play.
This is Haymon matchmaking as usual. Eubank has been calling out Charlo for a long time. Plant was never a fighter Eubank brought up.
So I’m wondering what Haymon was acknowledging or approving to the Eubank’s at the table.
Al:
“Well, Jermall Charlo won’t agree to fight you... he feels that this is the split you deserve considering who you’ve fought.”
Eubank Sr: “Hmmm. I see.. well my son KO’d Yildirim in which Dirrell couldn’t. Also, we have DeGale on our belt. If you plan to make Plant vs Truax then I think Chris deserves it more. We have proven some fights at 168. Plant doesn’t have a PPV like Charlo. What a out Chris vs Plant?”
Al: “I can do that. In fact I do like Chris holding that too doe. Plant acts weirds around me sometime, acting like I’m from the hood. I told him to chill out.”Comment

Charlo and Plant have been mentioned for Eubank for damn near six or seven months now. And to be honest, it may end up being Charlo vs Eubank and Plant vs Traux.Eubank has a crazy engine. IF though it is Plant vs Eubank, then I wonder who Charlo fights next. Does he make his move up to 168 and take on Jacobs? Fight Hurd at MW?Comment
