He barely sc****d by against Chisora. Chisora looked too big for him, and Joshua and Fury are much bigger.

        Looked very rusty

Covid is throwing up challenges in all sports

I would back him against AJ but not Fury

The fight is a £300million fight. Parting with $1million won't be a problem.
Usyk will want more than £1 million to step aside imo.

No, give the £1million to WBO president.

Usyk isn’t entitled to shiiit. He needs to earn it in the division. Even Holyfield who was greater and far superior than him had to earn his shot. Then he can get sparked after the undisputed fight and go back to Crimea.

Entitled idiots disgust me. He kept ducking decent boxers just for a big payday. If he’s as good as they claim - he would’ve taken the Povetkin fight and not come with some BS political crap when his friend from Ukraine fought another Russian and he also fought against a Russian champ in Russia.

              I don't disagree with you.

But, unfortunately, that's where Usyk is sitting now due to WBO "rules".

              Thanks.

I think Usyk knows he has zero chance vs Fury, so is pushing for Joshua, I don't blame him, but Joshua will still beat him. I'd give him 0% chance vs Fury and 15% vs Joshua.
Very sensible post. Sounds about right... Usyk was moving straight back and into the slowest lethargic Derrick punches... No way he can move that way against a decent puncher at heavyweight. Chisora almost KOed him and was obviously past it.

Do they ever show much insight regarding mandatories? It is politics... Like the British Boxing Board stepping in trying to stop what was a great entertaining fight between Chisora and Haye a while back... Why? because they thought they could and had to try that power play...

All the alphabets pull it as well lol. Telling Lennox Lewis to fight Ruiz back in the day, when Michael Grant had people convinced he could threaten Lewis' reign.

None of these boards have common sense, or the need to practice basic logic: Usyk plainly is ill equipped to fight a decent heavyweight contender... Or as they say in story land " the empror has no clothes."

But NSB keeps swearing up and down that Usyk is elite.

I'm trying to understand where that's coming from. Do elite fighters damn near lose to gassed Chisora?

I never could see it. He has a very potent method of gaining steam and connecting with his shots in the later rounds. People forget that Toney Bellow, a fantastic and gutsy fighter, but not a great talent, almost beat him. He has never distinguished himself in the manner that a fighter like Ward, fighting in his division, before moving up, was able to do so.

I mean Loma, for example, before moving up, did beat most commers in a dominant fashion... That cannot be said for Usyk. Of course LOMA lost to a fighter who had a lot of strength and made it a physical and ugly fight... That prestaged his loss to a strong young fighter who did not possess the intelligence to know when fighting loma one is to lay down and marvel at the artistry of the man.

The chisora fight was the icing on that knowledge cake lol... Anyone with any sense can see the writing on the wall... ALI, who was a fairly decent heavyweight (being sarcastic lol) EVEN the great Ali was hided supremely by Frazier in his habit of moving straight back and not off line.... I HAVE never seen the big U use an angle yet... he moves straight in and out... It won't take a frazier to catch him and produce chrome bubbles for Usyk lol... Chisora practically did it a few times! And one could grab a beer and a pizza slice in the time Derrick's punches arrived.

I see a lot of similarities with Loma and Usyk. People have forgotten about the style of proze fighting not based on the ammies... Both guys have weaknesses they are unaware of. With Loma it is when he is pressed by a strong opponent who can stop his movement by attacking continually, with usyk it is limited defensive footwork and no real understanding of cutting the ring down, angles, etc

These boxing organizations are the kind of places that would s hit on a plate, bring it to you in a fine restaurant with a sauce and proclaim it to be a superb dish... I really do not think they care about the fighters they push through.
