Williams will present problems to Floyd on a sole basis of being able to present problesm to any other fighter in welter/jr.middle.
His style is just made to present trouble.
The only fighter who would have some sort of advantage over the guy, is someone his height or taller and with the thundering right hand.

he beat a super confident mitchell who had a will to win much worse then floyd mayweather did... mitchell shouldnt even of been stopped in the mayweather fight .. he was tryna milk the count it was rediculous..

** Heh, heh, it was a big deal for Floyd when he made his welter debut against Mitchell, turning down a huge undisputed welter fight with Zab last year.

One thing about Floyd since Castillo ruined him, he consistantly turns down huge money for lesser fights if he gets a whiff of danger like the Margarito fight. Williams can forget about ever getting Floyd and his pink panties in the ring.

So what? Since when was Mitchell a FORCE in the WW division? He isn't. Beating Mitchell does not prove anything. Mitchell is old as hell anyway.

It was definitely NOT a big deal for him to fight Mitchell... it was a tuneup for the weight, not a big time fight.

Word has it that Floyd will be making over 8 mil in the fight against Baldomir, as well, and Baldomir will be making about 1 3/4 of a million.

Floyd's ARMS are longer than Williams' arms, btw. He has 26" arms, and Williams has 25" arms... somehow, Williams gains like 10 inches in span, though... maybe he has huge hands?

According to the tale of the tape they are. Mayweather's are 26" and Williams' are 25". I just looked at the Mayweather - Zab - Gatti - and Mitchell fights and he is listed as 26" in all of them. I just looked at the Williams' fight again (after watching it just now) and he is at 25". Williams' span is longer, though.

After watching the fight anyone who thinks Williams will beat Floyd is foolish. An old Sharmba got in there and stunned him in the second. Sharmba's defense is not as good as Floyd's, and Floyd hits just as hard as Sharmba did. Floyd is faster on his feet and with his hands than is Mitchell; he'd definitely beat Williams at this stage of his career. He'd slip and duck under a lot of the punches, roll off more of them and counter the hell out of Williams all night long, because Williams is not going to use his size advantage the way most would expect him to. He'll fight on the inside with Floyd, which is exactly what Floyd would need to win.

That's not to say it wouldn't be a tough fight for Mayweather, it very well could be, but I don't see Williams beating him at all.

I like Williams and think that he would present Floyd with problems early. Floyd would eventually figure him out and counter off William's shots. The straight right would be there for PBF all night long.

The problem Floyd would have is penetrating the long reach of Williams but, then again, he doesn't use his jab as effectively as he should and he keeps his hands too low. If PBF goes to the body early, he will probably KO him in 8.

IMO if Mayweather fought Williams it would be an awkward, sort of boring fight. Williams has the long arms to keep Floyd away, but that also means his punches won't get there as fast. I don't see him hitting PBF much and I think it would be difficult for PBF to hit Williams until he could get inside. Both come into fights with great conditioning so it would almost definitely go to the scorecards with PBF winning about 8-9 rounds. Williams seems to be a solid prospect though and really could give PBF a lot more trouble because he has some boxing skills. I'd love to see Williams fight Margarito. The winner would get his name out to the public more and earn some credibility for a big-money fight.

It would be a good match and very close IMO. But I give Floyd the advantage because of the tactical skills he would use. Circling the ring, not wasting punches etc.
