    1. Ring doesn't decide the Lineal. Ring decides the Ring.

    2. There is currently no consensus Lineal at WW. I imagine right now that would only happen if Crawford and Spence fight since they're widely seen as being the best WWs.

    3. There's only 2 ways lineage is established. 1. Beating the man who beat the man and 2. The consensus number one and number 2 fighters fighting. Manny is pretty much seen by everyone as #3. So sure he can fight for the Ring title, but he cannot fight for the Lineal.

      Another one not listening.

I caps it, I bold it. People don't read.

The winner of The Ring at welterweight will be RECOGNIZED as lineal champion.

Crawford will NOT be one of the opponents because he's priced himself clean out for both. He doesn't want to fight either guy.

That means the unification between Spence and Manny will RECOGNIZE a new lineal champion.

Just to remind folks what *might* be at stake. I actually have inquiry out, but I know some Ring folks are around - can they speak to it?

(And I told you, Crawford wasn't going to fight Spence before Spence fought Manny.)

a lot of clueless punks in here.

lineal is #1 vs #2. not #2 vs #3. ring changed their rules so that #2 vs #3 can win their ring belt/"lineal". this is why tbrb was created to annoint a true lineal. also boxing zone is around as well.

pac is the last welterweight lineal champ. floyd vacated the welterweight lineal in 2015 when he retired. pac and bradley were considered #1 and #2 by tbrb and boxing zone when they fought in 2016. pac vacated lineal in 2016 when he announced his retirement.

so welterweight title is vacant since 2016 and new lineage starts when #1 and #2 fight (crawford vs winner of pac vs spence).

          this isnt hard to understand.

No. It's not a 1 v 2 fight so a new Lineal Champion cannot be crowned. 1 v 3 is not a lineal champion. It's not Spence v Crawford (and Manny is neither of their brother!)

It'll just be another belt for the winner, one they don't need to pay sanctioning fees for.

TBRB are the denizens of the 'Lineal Championship' now because they only recognise 1 v 2 fights for the vacant championship, and their rankings are better than Ring's anyway. Ring Title means a hell of a lot though if it descends from a 1 v 2 fight like Loma v Teo / Taylor v Prograis.

It's good that the RING belt is on the line but it's not for the vacant Lineal. See TBRB welterweight rankings.

It should be for the lineal title.

He who holds Ring will be RECOGNIZED as lineal champion. Period.

It's unbelievable how many people are so against this. If it were Crawford / Pacquiao people wouldn't be complaining.

Maybe there is just an irrational hatred of PBC Fighters.

Spence must be very happy... This is definitely the easiest fight to capture The Ring belt...
