Both duBoef and Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti recounted to The Ring on Tuesday the details of an offer delivered to Angel Garcia for his son, Danny Garcia, to meet Crawford (34-0, 25 knockouts) in a welterweight title fight on that same date.

The offer, presented by Moretti during a phone call with Angel: $3 million guaranteed plus upside of the pay-per-view revenue. The plan was for Crawford-Garcia to headline Top Rank’s first PPV show on ESPN. Of course, Garcia is aligned with PBC, meaning he fights exclusively on Showtime/FOX.

“It was a totally professional discussion,” Moretti recalled. “He said he would discuss it with Danny. Never heard back. I appreciate him taking the call. I think that door is always open. Absolutely.”

Well Spences last two fights have had the same relative attendance numbers. Porter Pre-Covid and Garcia Post-Covid. No reason why the fight could not be had in Texas again with close to 17,000 in attendance. How much more to you expect to attend if this was not a covid world? With 17k in attendance and a high profile fight there is still a lot of money to make.

Venue is not a valid excuse.

If held in Dallas Cowboys stadium where Spence is know to draw they’d draw 4x that number of people. The venue in which Porter was held was at capacity. During Mikey Garcia fight more than 47,000 were in attendance to watch that fight. So how many more do I expect to attend? More than Spence vs. Mikey that’s for sure and yes venue is most certainly a valid reason.

at this point i wouldnt mind seeing crawford fight up and comers like ortiz or ennis next if he doesn't fight porter or one of the pbc guys

Danny Garcia is WW contender and a top 5 WW the last couple of years. He is much better than Khan, Brooks or any guy Crawford has fought at 147.

That said and to your point, at this point, there is absolutely no reason or obstacle for Crawford-Spence to NOT fight each other next.

Crawford has been vocal about saying he don’t need Spence. Crawford has not had a meaningful fight at 147. Maybe it’s not his fault as you say but him and Spence must fight next year.

I personally believe Crawford doesn’t seem to want that fight based on what he keeps saying but I don’t doubt his skills. In fact if they do get to fight I have that fight at a dead even toss up. I’m still going to lean towards Spence to get a split decision or majority decision.

He does want the fight. However he made a bad move. He was trying to downplay the credibility of Spence in order to make himself look like the A side but in doing so he has diminished the hype for the fight and has caused people to doubt his credibility as someone who is willing to get in the ring with Spence.

I dunno who is advising him but whoever it is just dropped the ball.

The logical solution was do what Pac did with Mayweather and convince the whole world that Spence is ducking and Spence doesn't want that smoke. He needed to convince the world that he is in fact the Boogieman.

gotta admit, it was super disappointing when i heard terence say he doesn't need errol.

that is a level of delusional-ism i did not expect from him.

how about when bob kept saying they were eyeing porter, before and after the mean machine fight, after the mean machine fight....then when kenny said "call us we can make that" he said "thats on on my radar like a week later on camera? and decided to fight kell brook?

crawford shows up at cards to get noticed....he knows the fights with the pbc guy arent gonna get made....spence doesnt need to show up to crawfords cards...because spence was getting love on the cowboys sideline on thanksgiving day games and other games on cbs....

i believe bud and spence will fight when both guys need it...right now spence has other options....eventually, if he remains unbeaten, spence will need bud too and it will be the perfect time....till then bud showing up to cards is just to piggyback and help build the fight down the line.....

bud/spence is the only fight with a pbc fighter that bob will make money on...all that other talk is just talk/smoke....thats why they reversed course on fighting porter real quick...180 real fast once kenny spoke up and basically said he had al's blessing.....bud/TR know what theyre doing though...theyre going to have people on ESPN do the bidding for them and act like bud is being ducked....its the perfect crime .....and im not even knocking bud here.....but they know what theyre doing...its all a big game

theyll fight...when its of benefit to both....spence can still fight pac or thurman...or both.....spence could walk away with a 3rd belt and another successful ppv or two under his belt and come to the table will all that.....bud will talk about being ducked and show up at pbc shows or whatever.....these guys are going to maximize it.....TR and the pbc work together when they need to(think fury/wilder) and its worth it to them

2. Do you really think Canelo is going to be able to make 160 by the end of next year? I highly doubt he has any more fights left at 160. Maybe and it is a huge maybe, Jermall but after that he is done with 160.

1. Right now? No. I don't think Spence is sharp enough for Canelo. Seeing what he did with Danny, I would suspect Canelo to pick him apart.

This is IF he fights three times. But remember, he can't fight on PPV three times in a year, that's not happening.

Realistically, he's probably gunning for Pacquiao and Crawford in 2021. Possibly Porter rematch if he can't get Pacquiao.

I think he is gunning for Pacquiao as well but you make a strong point with the IBF mandatory defense.

I think Crawford is going to have to fight Porter. Because with the WBO, Porter is the #1 contender. While in the IBF, Porter is currently the #2 contender.

A lot of politics with the boxing orgs. but if anyone can get the org to delay the mandatory, they'll probably get Pacquiao first.
