I think it is close but I would pick Louis prime against prime.I have seen lots of film of him. His jab was just as good as Holmes's jab and his power punches were harder, faster and more accurate. Prime Louis was a precision puncher who KOed almost everyone he fought and he fought the best of his day.

Holmes. He's as good or better than anyone Louis faced, would out jab Joe Louis, and has grade A chin if Louis lands something serious.
