Joe Louis pound for pound is ranked higher than Larry Holmes but Larry Holmes beats him. Size is a factor when skill set is similar. I think vitali klitchscho beats Joe Louis to.
The sport evolved to be so much more technical and guys are so much bigger and stronger.
Prime Chad Dawson beats Rocky Marciano IMO... But pound for pound, era for era obviously Dawson isn’t even in the same galaxy as Marciano.

More or less I share your sentiments. Can't comment really on the Rocky vs Dawson comment. Not sure exactly what weight they were and who knows how good Rocky was exactly.

I agree that boxers for the most part have evolved. I think a few in each era could probably compete in any era though.
