    Spence-Garcia after thoughts

I came away with the opposite opinion of the majority. I thought that despite losing Danny looked pretty good. I sensed that something wasn't right with Spence. It could be his own doubts due to the accident, combined with a 13 month layoff, but I felt it was more then that. He performed okay and got the win, but I wasn't as impressed as others seem to be. There were 3 or 4 rounds middle of the fight whereby Danny came forward and Spence let him take the lead. Spence hardly stood his ground and he let a few rounds go by just that way. I began to wonder if Danny wasn't going to win the fight.
After some rounds went by in that manner, Spence finally came out for a new round and went on offense right away, regaining some control after he let Danny move him around the ring for several rounds. Spence didn't let Brook nor Porter take and keep control at any time in their fights. He fired shots back and stubbornly held ground and control. I saw something different against Danny, even the look on his face wasn't right. After the fight he did a few minutes interview and he didn't sound right nor act right. I hope it's nothing, but I'm not so sure there isn't something lingering physically from the accident. I only had Spence winning 7-5 or 7-4-1 possibly.

I don't see where he goes from here other than fighting other gate keeping low risk high reward fighters like himself. He has to be the most overrated fighter in recent years.

He keeps getting title shot after title shot without so much as ever defeating anyone ranked in the top ten at welterweight. He said he was going to jump on Erroll Spence and test him from the opening bell but we've all seen had that panned out as Erroll Spence was not at his physical peak.

Same take man. I mean, what did he train for? Did he plan on boxing with Spence lol? I thought he only had one shot, and that was to go at him like pavlik/miranda or chino/broner. He was going to take punishment but at least he had a chance at landing a bomb. 10 seconds in you knew DSG was going to get thudded on..

Yeah, I agree. Obviously, Danny didn't want to risk getting hurt or knocked out by Erroll. So he made a conscious decision to fight a very cautious and tentative fight against him. Similarly like Mikey Garcia did against the 'Truth'.

Spence took two consecutive rounds off against Danny Garcia; Rounds 9 and 10 and he did absolutely nothing in those rounds against him. Danny only won those rounds by default due to Spence's inactivity.

I thought the same thing. Even his pattern of speech seemed slow before the fight. I think something is off but he still has punching power and a decent boxing IQ. That’s why he was able to win the fight. I need to see him in another fight to see if this was just rust. This version of Spence is not beating Crawford. In fact, I wouldn’t pick him against Pacquiao or a rematch with Porter. It was still a good win against Garcia though.

I agree, we'll find out more next fight. He would not have beaten Porter the way he looked against Danny.
