It had big marketing on this event. No current boxer outside of canelo can do this.

And Canelo can’t since he fights in an app that didn’t do well in the USA that wanted him to take a pay cut to half of what he was contracted to.

Boxing always on some bs with PPV numbers. I don't think any promoter has announced numbers officially in awhile. They usually just randomly say a number months later & others promoters say it was 20% or more lower than that number lol.

These mofos just happy they got a giant ass number & I'm assuming a great % was digital buys which they don't gotta chop with any bs distributors.

Tyson and Roy put in about as much effort as spenceweather and patsy garcia last night, but we the people would rather pay to see legends like Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, Andrew Golota in the ring than protected pretenders like spenceweather and patsy garcia.

All of these PPV buys for two out of their prime fighters from the 1990s shows the sad state of affairs of heavyweight boxing today. Now I see why Holyfield wanted in on the action after hearing how much Tyson brought home. Just because you beat the man doesn't make you the man. Tyson is still at the age of 54, the cash king. Not Fury, Wilder, Joshua or none of them.

If boxing promoters would stop acting like crabs and let the sport grow based on raw talent we would have more PPV’s and loyal fans.

But half of boxing doesn’t invest in top talent, another half won’t spend to make the big fights and the only one entity doing it right has marginal success because the ones that can’t build stars focus all there energy on tearing them down. This is why those old dudes sell. Because no one hid the Mike Tyson’s of the world from the public to make the Andrew Golota’s stand out. Boxing is its own worst enemy.

Impressive numbers but a sad indictment of boxing today. The sport is crying out for a modern day superstar.

It’s due to boxers constantly ducking each other and not taking the toughest fights each time.
