How would Boxing History have looked if every country could always have turned pro?

Judging by how great they are in the amateurs and how well theyve adapted to the pros since being able to compete in the pros since the early 2000s. Id imagine the ex soviet union countries boxers- Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan etc would make up about half of all the All time Greats list.

Cubans would have a sizeable amount too, although they are great anateurs they don't convert to the pros as well as Eastern Euros.Still many would have done well.

The all time great list is about 50% white americans and 50% black americans. But it would look very different if the best nations in boxing had been able to turn pro always

The countries that steal children away from their families and force them into boxing camps from the age of 6 well into adulthood would have an advantage.

Cuba and the Soviet Union would have had their share of champions in many weight classes ranging from feather to Heavy. Essentially the world champions, pre 1990 didn't have to face any of these Cuban or Eastern European fighters as professionals.

No, it'd be like how basketball is today, which is the true international sport that Americans play.

The overwhelming majority of greatest players are still Black Americans, but there's just some Luka Doncic, Dirk Nowitzkis here and there.

Euros and Latin Americans have taken over because Black Americans would rather play basketball & football than box.

If we still wanted to box, we'd still be dominating.

Hell, we're still a large percentage of great fighters on the P4P list with guys like Crawford, Spence, and The Charlos and Tank hovering around the top 10.

If every Black kid boxed like we used to, there'd be even more.

Basketball isn’t an international sport at all. Football/Soccer is King. Rugby and Cricket follow.

The same, the poster child of commie boxing was Tio. It's all well and good to speak of platitudes but there was no Uzbek nor Russian worth mention. There was no fervor for anyone being able to disrupt American supremacy in that era outside of Tio.

Tio would have gotten his ass stomped by Ali though, be real, Cubans been nothing but hype.

                Are you high?

A sport with 2.2 billion fans isn't an international sport?

That’s fair; I stand corrected. I did not know basketball was that popular and am not that into it myself (short half-Latino guy here, figures I guess)

Are you for real, no one takes basketball seriously in most countries around the world.

I’ve traveled all over and I can’t recall seeing a single basket ball court in any country I visited, seen plenty football pitches and tennis courts tho.

Football is the number 1 sport world wide... nothing is even close.
