First off I can't stand these boxers/people who say stuff like "most of you dont have balls to step in a ring" "or a boxer cant be a coward" lmfao like settle down its just boxing you aren't doing some noble profession lol. Most of us have been in streets fights and no matter what you think about the "skill level" involved in these streets fights the truth is the outcome is unknown and there is no ref/corner/commision or anybody out there looking out for your safety unlike the ring etc, Im willing to bet more people have died/been left handicap in street fights than have due to professional boxing.

Quitting is whatever to me, it's their life their decision to make. That being said don't expect me to support you or not criticize you over your decisions.

Dubious I think was done, was it quitting? yes but not outright a quit imo its was the "ive been bested" type of quit .

90% of guys who "street fight" are garbage ass **** worse than Nate Robinson bad.

More than half of those 90% who don't know how to fight are more than willing to pull out a weapon because they bit off more than their puss.y a.ss could handle.

How to win a street fight 101.

      Go for the eyes
      Hit them in the throat
      Crotch shots
      Pull a gun or knife
      Bring your friends

Even cowards and losers can win street fights. Can't do that in boxing.

I think some fans have seen one too many Rocky movies and forget that these are normal human beings getting punched in the head and most importantly that boxing is a sport, not a gladiatorial fight to the death.

The reason why fights like Gatti/Ward are lauded as special is because they are special. That exceptional level of heart and toughness goes above and beyond what we should expect of any boxer.

These are sportsmen. Boxing is how they make a living but it doesn't utterly define them as people. They have lives outside of it like everyone else does outside of their job. Who are you to decide how far they should push their bodies in terms of physical punishment?

Could Dubois have continued? Yes. Did he want to? No. He was a beaten man. Joyce beat the fight out of him and that's that. Credit to Joyce.
To me there's at least more honour in the way Dubois quit than what most boxers do when they've had enough, such as going back to the corner and faking an arm/hand injury, or taking a bogus knockdown and getting up at nine and a half on wobbly legs prompting the ref to wave it off before protesting and complaining like they wanted to continue.

You people put human beings on pedalstal like they some super heros lol all they do is box lmfao they arent braver than a man who chose a different profession. Boxing is a job that has some risk just like a fisherman has risk etc etc we dont priase fisherman because he chose to be afisherman lol.

At the end of the day, this is sport. No need to get permanent eye damage because you wanted to impress somebody.

He fought, he was competitive, he made money we can only dream and he quit because he was scared for his health. Who am I to judge him?

A street fight is generally over in minutes, a professional fight is over a long period of time, its where a fight becomes a battle with ebb and flow, its the time factor that will bring out the quit most of the time through fatigue and sustained punishment, where on the extreme severe punishment will bring quit out the fastest.

The meathead that will die doing nothing but moving forward is not showing courage in its true sense, it is showing its ******ity it doesnt understand its being killed, gameness is when you hit the wall physically/mentally and fully understand the consequences while believing deep down you can win and your forward is in always trying to win, thats real gameness and a massive difference .

A professional fight is no spur of the moment blow up, its the very nature of conditioning and the opponent is close to your equal that sets up the time factor, a street fight is aggression based while a professional fight is a controlled battle and that is what takes gameness to another level of testing.

What is more inclined to quit you, a minute beating or a drip on your forehead for a very long time.
