Dude , totally different scenario here. Tyson didn’t quit against Holyfield, he bite him out of frustration. He did quit against McBride, but at that point he didn’t even want to fight anymore, he was doing it cause he needed money. Dubois is the up and coming hungry kid and he quit. A young Tyson never did that.
Tyson bit Holyfield knowing he would be disqualified. You say it was out of frustration. Wasn't Roberto Duran frustrated when he said No Mas?
So Tyson's actions don't constitute quitting because he used a foul to force Mills Lane to DQ him? Neither Duran nor Tyson wanted to be in the ring anymore because they were frustrated, one just was more upfront and obvious when he stated "no more". Perhaps Dubois should have bit Joyce or found a soft place in the canvas to fall from a punch to avoid being labelled a quitter.Comment

You maybe right
Yes your right, I think his corner talked him into saying he had, had enough and then the corner team called it off...but he really was taking a beating with no success and no chance of changing that.
On another note some corner teams say very little and give no advice, Dubois team remained calm but were clearly ironing his eye down. but with no advice. Are they worried the other team will hear said advice, if so should they not speak in code when changing tactic's. He could have crouched down and attacked the body for a few rounds thus avoiding the jab to the eye by keeping low. ...and Jennings Hurt Joyce with a body blow. Yet Dubois just kept plodding forward getting tapped on the left eye.Comment

Yet that’s all he ever does. Did it with both Wilder and AJ.Comment

There's no think..of course he did, I've seen comments talking about how he's still young at 23 and how he did the right thing stopping before he suffered a career ending injury. First of all Tyson was HW champion when he was in his teens so cut the he's too young crap and he could not know how serious his injury was. He's a boxer, it's not a game and the boy was not used to fighting someone who will fight back, you could see in his eyes that it's not something he should persue. He can keep fighting c level British bums but people should stop mentioning his name again then, look at real champions..Ali and Frazier nearly died in Manilla..it's boxing, he decided to do it then fkn do it till the end. You can't be like, oh no..he jabbed my eye, it's puffy now I better take a knee so I can fight tomorrow again. Is that warrior mentality? I know it's a hard sport and I respect anyone doing it but once you decide you have to be ready to die, it's not a game.
It’s been confirmed that dubois has a broken eye socket and nerve damage so I can imagine the pain he had and this injury really ended brooks career so it’s not injury that repairs easily.
But your right again and when you fight cans and your not use to having to take punches your not mentally toughened and.that’s why an amateur background pays off in the professionals.....it toughens you up for journey aheadLast edited by The plunger man; 11-29-2020, 02:22 PM.Comment

Guy is 23 years old and had a bad eye injury. Take the loss, improve, and come back stronger and accept the better man won. Stop all this "warrior" bull****. He's supposed to be a warrior so a bunch of moron fans can accept him in their sad little worlds? What if those extra few rounds he stays in ruins his career and forces him to retire from boxing? ****ing idiotsComment

Whyte isn’t even a footnote in boxing history. Only legacy is cheating and being found out, despite various British organizations trying to cover up his crimes.Comment

I've made some massive money betting on huge underdogs like Ruiz/Dubois/Povetkin who are fighting massively over rated UK hype jobs like Whyte/AJ/Dubois...Comment
