British media is pathetic, didn’t even question Dubois quitting

When Andrew Golata quit against Mike Tyson, everyone threw beer on him and the announcers said they never wanted to see Golata fight again.

I think we just did that to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. two months ago.

But Daniel Dubois? He’s British so he can be a *****. We won’t even ask a question about it.

The UK media pick and choose who can and cant do wrong.I remember when some of them scored Groves Eubank to Eubank. They make a prediction then fit the result to the prediction.

Yeah Brit announcers are soft on home guys, but this seems closer to Lara-Angulo than the fights you mentioned, don't remember Angulo having beer thrown on him.

Carl frampton was calling him out for quitting, so what you on about? The fight just ended what British media is going to call him out? There is no crowds to throw beer or anything, so not sure why you getting triggered. At least wait a day or two and then see what the media are reporting. Crying after 30 minutes of a fight ending is laughable.

hes just a kid, 23 years old he shouldnt be crucified for it. as i said before the fight hed started to believe his own hype, he was probably expecting to bomb joyce out with the first solid combo as a lot of people thought. tonight was a reality check for him but he can come again, it wasnt as if he got hammered every round. frank warrens to blame for thinking it was a wise idea to go from fighting some human punchbags to the level of joe joyce at 23 years old. also frampton heavily criticised him on bt sport and said he quit

Not that I completely disagree, but nobody really cared too much about Golota - Tyson was the star of the show and people paid to see him knock mother****ers out. So Golota robbing everybody of that was seen as bad for business. The network who carried this fight has a stake in Dubois on the other hand, and as arguably their brightest young prospect they're not gonna want to tear him down. It's just business.

David Haye and Carl Frampton called him out for quitting so what the fuck are you talking about?

                Grow up.

Carl Frampton AND David Haye both said it was a bad look and he quit.

This man just continues with his questionable threads lol.

                    Exactly this.

We have a very weak and pathetic culture which hates on anyone that threatens our mild sensibilities. Its why I've never really fallen in love with guys like Joshua (or Dubois), they always look for a certain kind of non-threatening affability whilst overlooking near standout talent. Hence why guys like Fury, Eubank, Lewis, Benn and many others were always kinda looked over.

There is a lot to enjoy about Joyce even outside of his boxing, most of all is the fact that he constantly challenges himself. He constantly looks to evolve. Tonight he did again with an even better jab and head movement. That's what makes good fighters. Not consistently fighting B level talent, taking 70/30 splits in rematches and then claiming its all about "being humble". America, on the other hand, doesn't really respect you until you're taking on and defeating the best. As much as yanks annoy me, I respect that about them. Their fight culture is all about breeding excellence. Even if you medal at the Olympics, no one gives a **** until there is little doubt about your abilities. Hence why, despite Wilder's bronze medal and WBC championship, no one really acknowledged him due to his subpar resume. Its the very thing which forced him into hunting down guys like Povetkin, Ortiz and Fury. Look at the UFC (a very US centric product), I dislike the poor fighter pay but at least they're constantly getting the best fighters to go at each other.

Dubois was just another in a list of overhyped British heavyweights. And, rather oddly (and just like in the cases of Bruno/Lewis and Joshua/Fury) it seems like we actually possessed the superior talent all along.
