I stated why I wrote what I did,its because you always sht on whoever Canelo is fighting (but the "essay" applied to everyone in this thread that does the same,I asked you directly because I remember you, don't get offended by it, I meant it as a general question for everyone) I just find it crazy that no matter who Canelo fights hes ALWAYS ducking who he didn't fight thats rated lower,& I took what you said about "not wanting the belt till Benevidez wasn't in the pic" to mean Benevidez was ducked for easier Smith

(its debatable whos better skilled but Smith on paper is the most prestigious choice because hes in his prime, Ring champ & WBSS champ & Davids a beltless undisciplined coker)

Benevidez is a more skilled bigger Mungaia imho,but hes still green & when he finally reaches prime he won't even be able to make SMW. Hes another young fighter boiling down to compete because if he filled in completely & fought at his true weight hed get beat before he builds his profile.

I think Benevidez vs Smith would be a toss up fight & Smith has better experience & David has more power but not truly elite power.

Benavidez just need to get his Belt Back and a fight between him and Plant is a huge fight so even without Canelo these guys can still put together an incredible legacy. Canelo is just the big PAYDAY but Benavidez vs Plant is the fight to make at 168 IMO! Canelo vs Benavidez, Canelo vs Plant, Canelo vs BJS are a Bonus for that Division

I want to see fighters become Stars and Draws on their own WITHOUT depending on Canelo because if they do that, it makes a fight with Canelo a MEGA FIGHT when fighters build up their profile on their own and become a stand alone draw without him. This is why steam is building for Canelo vs Spence Jr because Spence Jr is doing that with the big Assist from FOX

He was 20 years old and he fought him in a rematch and won convincingly. He a different fighter now and is all wrong for Canelo. After the 6th round Benevidez takes over and drowns Canelo late. If the fight happens I’m throwing $500 on benavidez

Canelo has stated in the past he doesnt want to face any Mexicans Rivals. He dont want to be the reason to derail there careers.

In my opinion his logic is kinda flawed imo, in his mind hes doing this (not facing Mexicans rivals) because its way of him helping out his people but in reality hes denying them a 15 million dollar paycheck. What you think will help them more? not have a L on their record to you or that 15 million in there bank?

I think too many ppl read mistranslated quotes & take too much stock from it. Canelo has shown hes willing to fight the best & brightest opponents available & I'm confident if there ever becomes another top mexican star thats calling him out he'll fight him regardless of division because he knows that would be a mega seller on cinco de mayo & he knows that would be a generational legacy fight,the problem is the Mexican fighters between 160-175 are unheralded nobodies with no name recognition besides die hards.

If Canelo beat Benevidez it would do no more for his legacy than Jacobs did, it'd become "a win over a green nobody" overnight...
